Women with disabilities are frequently invisible in gender-based violence (GBV) response efforts, despite being among the most at risk. More than half (53%) of Nigerian women with disabilities report experiencing violence (BONEWS, 2023). Social stigma and physical barriers often mean their voices go unheard and their needs unmet.
Our project is designed to change that. We create inclusive support systems in Guma, Benue State, providing 50 women and girls with disabilities access to safe spaces, legal help, and psychosocial care. We also train community advocates to recognize and address the specific challenges faced by disabled women, ensuring lasting support.
Your contribution helps to make these women visible—empowering them to speak out, access services, and help shape their communities. By supporting this initiative, you are affirming that every woman and girl deserves safety, respect, and opportunity.
Join us in ending isolation and building a future where all women are included and valued.
