Taking care of children at the APF Clinic

Dear Friend of Fondwa, APF, and Haiti:

Challenging times continue in our beloved Haiti. Here in Fondwa, we persevere because we have no other choice. Having your solidarity and support gives us the hope and inspiration to continue our work in the rural sectors. The APF Fondwa Clinic functions 24-7, seeing patients that otherwise would have no access to healthcare. As you may have heard, cholera has returned to Haiti as well. So far, we have not seen many cases in our area, but prevention education will re-start.

The last quarter of 2022 looked like this at the clinic:

From October to December 2022 ...

We saw a total of 141 patients, 81 patients in consultation and 60 children vaccinated. Some of the various ailments we addressed included 8 cases of acute respiratory infection, 1 severe case of diarrhea, 5 cases of hypertension, 2 cases of diabetes, 1 case of ear infection, and 1 case of malnutrition. There was also an outbreak of food poisoning, impacting 22 people including 1 pregnant woman. Other cases included anemia, gastritis, and genitourinary infections. There were also 6 accidents/emergencies, with 6 patients referred to the hospital for care from a specialist.

In the month of December, the administrative and medical team of the Fondwa clinic were able to take a complete inventory of medicines and supplies in Fondwa clinic.

Your continued support is crucial. GlobalGiving allows for you to make monthly recurring donations, and knowing these funds will arrive monthly is greatly appreciated. Every donation makes a big difference here in the mountains of Haiti.

With our sincere gratitude,

Kerline Thermozier and Dr. Maguy Louinise Randiche
