Dear Friends of the APF Fondwa Clinic
The late Spring of 2024 was a busy one for the APF Fondwa clinic, providing access to healthcare for the people of the Fondwa region in South Haiti.
During the second quarter, the clinic saw a total of 217 patients, 110 for consultation, and the remainder were children receiving vaccinations.
The various cases reported involved injury and emergency, digestive problems, urinary and genital infections, diabetes, dermatosis, pregnancy, high blood pressure, colic, respiratory infection, malnutrition, anemia, typhoid, malaria, muscular pain and neuralgia.
We referred a total of 10 patients to specialized clinics where they could receive more advanced care.
The APF Fondwa clinic is open from Monday to Friday from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. However, there is the availability of a medical team on site at all times in case of an emergency. Vaccinations are given every first, second and third Thursday of the month and we always take the opportunity to educate parents on topics that can help them, their children, their families, and the environment.
Our little clinic may not seem like much, but for this remote rural area of Haiti, the APF Fondwa clinic remains the first option for many people, and sometimes their only option. Thanks to you, and your faithful support, our doors are always open.
In Gratitude,
Dr M. Louinise Randiche and Ms. Kerline Thermozier
