Gardening using local materials in small spaces
Dear Friend,
Greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to our project providing education for girls coming from very poor families. This reporting period, the youth association of whom we capacitated to help implement our projects via their volunteers informed us that some of the girls and their families wanted to raise vegetables to augment their income and for their food needs. However they mentioned that they lack the space in their backyard to do this. In this way, we provided advice on how to raise gardens even in small spaces by using bamboo, containers and wood present around the house. In so doing they are able to do gardening in a small area.
Again thank you very much for your generosity.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre

Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to our initiative providing education support for girls affected by the earthquake. This reporting period we continue to provide technical assistance to our local partner the Visionary Youth Foundation so that they are able to access fund and manage their own projects. The youth association have the enthusiasm and they need hard core, practical support especially in the area of packaging a project proposal based on clear needs assessment of the place where they will intervene. We guided them also to access small funds coming from local embassies and charity groups. We are using our experiences in promoting a youth association here in the Philippines overcome funding adversity by implementing small-scale projects and then scaling-up and promoting our gains.
Again, than you very much for your generous support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project supporting poor girls who are studing and affected by the earthquake. One of the major problems we are facing with this initiative is the lack of contacts with the beneficiary schools we have supported during the early days of the earthquake. So in this regard, we continue to expand our contacts with local and international NGO's working in Nepal. We are also re-establishing contacts with the Filipino expatriates that are already established in Nepal and who have direct access to poor communities. One of them are a group of Filipino doctors who regularly do field outreach in the countryside and our aim is to piggy-back our support to their initiatives. I will provide more updates about this strategy in my next report to you.
Again thank you very much for your generous support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
