Vegetable seeds distribution
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project to provide assistance to studying girls and their families affected by the earthquake. This reporting period, we focused our assistance to Dhulikel which is an administrative center of Kavrepalanchowk and located at the Eastern rim of Kathmandu valley. We decided that this time we will distribute vegetable garden seeds so that the families of the girls will be able to start small home-gardens as we found out that gardening provides tremendous benefits in terms of food, nutrition and income for the family. This is also in order to prevent hidden hunger caused by the lack of vitamins in the food. This reporting period we were able to supply vegetable seeds to 120 families. Aside from vegetable seeds we also distributed simple reading material on how they can produce their own organic fertilizer and use recycled sacks and containers for gardening.
Again thank you very much for your generous support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Happy faces of our beneficiaries
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Warmest greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to provide for the needs of girls in school affected by the earthquake. Schooling especially for poor girls is difficult since the priority of the families are to rebuild houses and to start livelihoods. In order to ensure that schooling is not hampered, we decided to provide for very poor families food aid comprising rice, noodles and canned goods. This reporting period, we were able to provide food packs to 70 girls and their families. The support is a big boost for them and our beneficiaries are very happy. Next reporting period, we will provide vegetable seed packets to 200 families with funds coming from our Global Giving match. The seeds will be a big boost and will improve nutrition of girls and their families.
Again, thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Hygiene kits
Dear Friends,
Greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to our project helping girls continue schooling while they, their parents and families are re-building back their lives. To continue with schooling is indeed difficult especially for poor households struck with disaster of such magnitude as the earthquake. For most of poor families, it will take several years in order to fully recover. In our assessment we found out that most of the girls that we supported with school fees and school supplies are deficient in terms of support for their hygiene needs. Instead of the plan to provide vegetable seeds and tools for their parents, we focused our attention in providing with basic hygiene kits for the girls in the 2 schools that we are assisting. The hygiene kits comprise soap, toothbrush, toothpaste and hygiene wash. During this period we were able to distribute 120 packs of hygiene kits for 120 schoolgirls.
Again, thank you very much and hoping for continuing support from you.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre
