Working with new partners
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative providing support for poor girls affected by the earthquake. Our strategy since the start of our initiative is to link-up with local organizations working in Nepal since they know best the situation and the bulk of your donation will go to where it is most needed. It is our opportunity to come in contact with partners working with other organizations and who are willing to support us on their personal capacities. I met them during an Asian workshop on disaster preparedness and I hope that, aside from our original partner in Nepal, the Visionary Youth Association, this new partnership will also prosper.
Again, thank you very much for your kind help.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Technical assistance for a youth-led organization

Developing local expertise
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to our project providing support for poor girls who are in school. Like our experience in the Philippines during Typhoon Haiyan, support to education is a little complex to implement given the year to year need for funds as the students continue to study. This is not a short-term activity like some of our projects whose intensity of implementation can be increased or decreased depending on the incoming funds. In this connection, our long-term strategy is to provide technical assistance to our partner organization the Visionary Youth Foundation in terms of fund accessing, donor engagement and project development so that they can acess funds and implement project on their own with continuing technical assistance and project implementation from us. There are a lot of small donors in the country that they can access funds then develop larger projects as their expertise and management skills improve.
Thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Field exposure to the Philippines
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation in order for us to help send girls of poor families affected by the earthquake to school. This project period we arranged the visit of one of the leaders of our partner youth association based in Bhaktapur to observe and learn how we implement an integrated feeding, hygiene support and assisting in the education expenses of girls in our project areas in the Philippines. This aside from his exposure to our water and sanitation initiatives. This is with the aim of replicating our best practices here. Since Nepal is mountainous, we took some time to bring our visitor to the sea. By next reporting period, we will closely support and monitor application of learning back in his home.
Again thank you very much for your generosity.
With deep gratitude,
Cora
