Hello and Happy Fall!
It's that time of year when Aspen is required to go through extensive vetting to keep her certification as Fair Haven's Certified Therapy Dog. We are super grateful for Davis Veterinary Service and Aspen's favorite Veterinarian, Dr. Marissa Veld! As Aspen ages, we are doing all we can to keep her health and happy.
Aspen loves coming to the office and supporting both clients and staff. She really enjoys spending time with the children! As you can see in the photo, she tries to lye on both chidren at the same time! Keeping her hip on one child while resting her shoulder and leg on the other. The girls sat for 20 minutes petting her, talking to her and fed her some treats too.
We are also super grateful to The Hydrant Pet Center located in Highland that asssits with keeping Aspen groomed and looking her best. The children pictured with Aspen could not believe how soft she was! The secret, a professional groomer! Aspen is part Great Pyrenees. The breed is very patient and very gentle with children. However, we can attest that this breed can shed! Great Pyrenees are one of the highest-shedding dog breeds in the world! Their thick, medium-legnth coat sheds year-round, with increased shed in the spring as they lose their winer coat and the undercoat restructures itself for the summer months.
Thank you so very much for supporting Aspen and her impact in the lives of victims/survivors and their families. This programing is 100% community funded. We absolutely could not do this work without your unwavering support.
