Aspen is attending her Therapy Dog International training and doing well. She improves with each class. The test is very challenging! The two most challenging components are: Aspen will have to walk by a water bowl and some food without licking or eating (she is very food motivated!) and when someone holds out a piece of cheese she must not take it from them! Did I mention she is very food motivated?
Her trainers are working with her (and me) teaching us tips to success! I must say, for a puppy, she is doing very well!
Additionally, we had some small visitors in our office and Aspen was super excited to make them feel welcome. These two young girls sat on the floor while Aspen rested her head in their laps. The girls cuddled and giggled with her and left feeling happy and loved.
We have great plans to use Aspen to engage children in our anti violence program! Her presence will help us engage children with a non-threating presence. As we build this cirriculum, we have great vision.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
