Thank you so very much for your continued support of Aspen, Fair Haven Rape Crisis Center's Certified Therapy Dog. As our Therapy Dog program is 100% community supported, your generous donations go directly to provide this special service to all our clients (and our staff reap a benefit too!).
In 2021, Fair Haven Rape Crisis Center provided 4,993 services to 314 survivors of sexual assault. 2021 was our largest service year in our 16 year history...until 2022! As of September 20, 2022, our staff has served 338 survivors. This has been a year like none other! As we continue to provide 24/7/365 services & response to all 14 hospitals emergency rooms within the three counties we serve (Lake, Porter and LaPorte), our opportunities to serve survivors continues to expand for our advocates as well as Aspen!
Aspen was invited to support an adolescent survivor who was attending a meeting a the prosecutors office. Due to the very sensitive nature of this opportunity, the only pictures we have to share are of Aspen in the car and outside on the grass. I am very happy to report that Aspen did an amazing job! She sat right on the feet of the survivor throughout the meeting and engaging in cuddles during emotional moments. The judicial system can be a very intimidating place for survivors and our advocates are right along side giving support. Aspen was elated to have this opportunity. As we enter the last quarter of 2022, we anticipate Aspen will have other opportunities to venture outside the office and lend support where needed. We are greatful to our community partners who allowed us this amazing opportunity.
We would love to meet you in person! On Sunday, November 6, 2022, 1-4pm @ the Halls of St. George, Fair Haven is hosting our 5th Annual Fairy Tale Ball. This is our most anticipanted and beloved family friendly event. We hope to see you there!
