Hospice medical team continuosly visit our Home Care clients. Assessment and re-assessment took place. Medicines and medical supplies were provided as well as the food, rice and milk. Therapeutic communication was also conducted and referral to government hospital for those who are in need of hospitalization. We were able to provide laboratory assistance to some in need of tests. Unfortunately, there were some who died. Hospice was able to give them dignified death by being pain free. Our Bareavement support was held and attended by the families of our patients to commemorate their loved ones by laying of stones in our garden of the Resurrection. This enables them to remember and reminisce with us and makes the process of letting go easier.
For the Day Care program, our patients/ clients, planning of activities was held and we chose which is possile and applicable for them. They celebrated Valentine's Day with the theme "All About Love". In this activity client and their love ones was able to share the love and care for each other and this helped them in minimizing worries and maintain the love despite their diagnosis. Qualities of love was also tackled and considered for them to remain in love. We also let them attend a Healing Mass and grateful for this activity for the spiritual upliftment. We also gave them activity on coloring pages for adult to test their talent and skills. An exercise for their hands and their eyes too. Basic overview on Gender and Development has been presented and the clients were very participative. They were also given orientation on women's rights. On Mother's Day, there were entertainment, sharing, crying especially for those mothers who are already gone. Food bags, rice, milk, vegetables, medicines and vitamins were provided to them.
For children with cerebral palsy, a Valentine activity was held and it is also about love. This was how they love and accepted their children despite the diagnosis. Each mother shared and with almost similar story- that they did'nt believe at first, they have struggles and anxiety accepting the reallty but slowly they were able to face the truth and that the children are God's gift to them. On the celebration of Women's month, they were given orietation why womens month is celebrated, in addition, awareness was given on to why it is cebrated- to give recognition to the contribution of Filipino Women. And in their part, we were able to recognized their accomplishment as mother to the CP children. The struggles and hardship that made them stronger and continue to care for their children. Lastly, we tackeld emotional side of caring their chidlren. Examples given has been experienced by many as handling and caring for children with cerebral palsy is really a hard tasks.
