AGASTYA’S VIDYA JYOTHI LIBRARY PROJECT
We hope this report finds you in the best of health.
A few accomplishments by Agastya’s Vidya Jyothi library:
- Total No of Books Collection Up to 30th March’ 2017: 13,057 Including Donated books.
- 8,050 books have been catalogued up to 30th March’ 2017, on KOHA Open Source library automation software, using international standard format MARC 21.
- January – March’ 2017, total 1,865 new children books graded and labeled according to the GROWBY method these books for ready to issue.
- Library Activity Statistics: Total 2,623. Exposures in this quarter January – March’ 2017
- Digital Library Activity Statistics: Total 1,347. Exposures in this quarter January – March’ 2017
Regular Library Activities:
- Building Vocabulary in their Mother Tongue and English
- Sentence formation and story writing through “Pop-Up books” making.
- Comic story writing (recognize the difference between Original Text & Dialogue)
- Origami paper crafts(Different caps, figure puppets, gift box, miniature book).
- Characterization, Dialogue narration & roll play through Mouth Puppet.
- Book Research through the activity “Pop-Up books”.
- Book Club Activity.
Community Libraries running in 16 Operation Vasanta Comunity Centers.
- Books Exchange: Inter exchange books in every quarter
- Book based activities: Conducting story based activities and origami activities in the centers.
- Book Circulation: Children they can borrow books from their community library.
- End line Assessment: Children are successfully reaching speaking ability in English.

Pop - Up Books
With your support, Agastya collected 11,192 books in Library. Library contributes to the creation of an environment that stimulates and paves the way for learning. During the last quarter over 2,100 children benefited and following activities were conducted:
- Sentence formation, book research and story writing through “Pop-Up book” activity.
- Origami paper designs (Different caps, puppets, gift box, and mini book).
- Characterization, dialogue narration, and role play through Puppetry.
Children who visited library were the part of all the above activities. The aim of the program is to cultivate the habit of reading among children.
You are truly bringing a change in the lives of children in Kuppam. We hope you enjoyed reading this report. Do let us know your thoughts on this program and report. Looking forward for your continued support for the program to benefit more children in Kuppam.

Hello.....
Thanks to each and everyone who support Agastya Foundation. We wish you "VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS DIWALI ".
After the vaccation schools were reopend and started full fledeged activities in Kuppam Campus. Here attached the report on library activities conducted from July-September'16.
Library Activities:
- Improving children listening skills through “Phonetic” alphabet sounds through videos for improving English vocabulary.
- Audio / Video visual show on moral stories.
- Regular classes.
- Training conducted for Operation Vasantha Volunteers on Adult Literacy.
- Government Teachers utilized our Library books.
- Children and our staff utilizing Digital Library content every Fridays.
- Inculcation of Book Reading habit.
- Value of a Book – Hands on learning.
- Community Library Visits.
- Books circulation among 10 New Community Libraries.
