WHEN A GIRL STAYS IN SCHOOL, EVERYONE BENEFITS

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty, yet many girls in rural Uganda continue to face barriers that threaten their ability to learn. A lack of menstrual hygiene supplies, combined with limited reproductive health education, causes many girls to miss classes every month. Over time, these missed lessons can lead to poor academic performance, low self-esteem, and school dropout.

Thanks to your generous support, we are helping vulnerable girls overcome these challenges. During this reporting period, girls received menstrual hygiene kits, reproductive health education, and mentorship that empowered them to stay in school and focus on their goals.

The need remains urgent. Recent reductions in support for adolescent health and outreach programs have left many schools and communities struggling to meet the needs of young girls. Your support has helped fill these critical gaps, ensuring that girls continue to receive life-changing assistance.

Teachers report improved attendance and participation among beneficiaries. Girls are attending lessons more consistently and engaging with greater confidence. Many now see education as a pathway to independence and opportunity rather than an unattainable dream.

Every girl who remains in school today represents a stronger family, a healthier community, and a brighter future tomorrow. Thank you for helping girls overcome barriers and pursue the education they deserve. Your compassion is creating lasting change, one student at a time.
