From the Graduates Network, we're proud to introduce our Red de Egresados (RED) program, a crucial initiative addressing the challenges faced by young people in Argentina. In Argentina, the youth unemployment rate is double the national average, and this group experiences the highest rates of informal employment. Forty-two percent of the population aged 16 to 24 faces socio-labor insertion problems. Many are unemployed, while others work in unregistered, precarious jobs, or neither work nor study.
We propose to support the post-school transition of socioeconomically vulnerable youth who have participated in our programs. The Red de Egresados aims to enhance the educational and labor insertion of these young people through various strategies. By partnering with companies, higher education institutions, other civil society organizations, and government agencies, we provide training and employment opportunities that meet the interests and needs of these young people.
Our key initiatives include:
*
Employment Training Courses: These courses provide young people with a competitive edge in securing their first job. They include workshops on labor competencies and employment tools offered by Cimientos, and technical training by partner companies. This training not only enhances the social capital of the young participants but also offers a valuable volunteering experience for the organization's collaborators.
*
Job Placement: To facilitate youth employment, we collaborate with companies and other organizations. Companies send us their job openings, and we disseminate them among graduates of our programs. We pre-select candidates and send their CVs to the companies. The companies then proceed with interviews and hiring, while Cimientos provides follow-up and support to the hired youth.
*
Higher Education Scholarships: We partner with higher education institutions to offer scholarships to our program graduates. We assist with the application process and provide ongoing support to ensure successful enrollment and completion of their studies.
*
Graduate Training and Exchange Days: In collaboration with our Future Graduates Program, we offer various activities for secondary school students, including life project workshops, vocational and occupational guidance, university fairs, and simulated job interviews. These sessions help students build their life projects and explore their career options.
Our program stands out for its comprehensive support during the post-school transition and its focus on meeting the specific needs of our primary audience—graduates of the Future Graduates Program—helping them construct their life projects.
Despite the challenges, our program has achieved significant results:
The employment training courses are short, intensive programs designed to meet the needs of young people and developed in partnership with different companies. They aim to train young people in specific job-related topics and socio-emotional skills, providing them with the tools to seek formal and quality employment. We help them recognize and enhance their skills, reinforcing the competencies and knowledge acquired through their social, academic, and work experiences. The courses are dynamic, combining workshops on socio-emotional skills and technical competencies, taught by Cimientos specialists and corporate volunteers.
To continue and expand our impactful programs, we need your support. Your donations will help more young people access employment and training opportunities, allowing them to escape poverty. Please consider making a donation and sharing our mission with your family and friends.
Thank you for your support,
