During these months, the entire Cimientos team has been working on planning our actions for this new year.

Regarding the line of work of training for employment and labor insertion we closed 2021 having given 12 training courses for employment in alliance with different technical partners for a total of 311 young people. Also, 104 young people found work.

For this year we have already confirmed the renewal of 4 courses and submitted proposals for another 6. Our greatest challenge is to increase the network of companies that could employ Cimientos graduates.

What is more, thanks to the articulation we did with different universities, 25 graduates got a scholarship for this year.

To be near  them in this new beginning, we will organize the first National Virtual Youth Meeting. “How to be a university student” will be the principal theme.Young graduates from previous years and from other allied organizations will be invited.

60 young people also renewed their university scholarships.

If you want to support our work so that more and more young people have access to employment and training opportunities that allow them to get out of poverty, consider making a donation. You can also be of great help if you spread the word and share our link with family and friends

Dear friends,

Mark your calendars! There are only 2 days until #GivingTuesday!

With $1 MILLION USD in funding available from @GlobalGiving, there’s never been a better time to give. Tell your family and friends: the more they give, the more Cimientos gets!

The end of the year is approaching and today we want to tell you about progress regarding training for employment and the labor insertion of our young people...

In October, the last National Virtual Youth Meeting of the year was held, with 241 young people who participated in talks and workshops during 3 days that addressed different topics regarding the search for a first job. Once the event was over, 29 mock job interviews were organized with company volunteers to train our youth for real interviews.

Jasmine, a young woman from the Province of Buenos Aires wrote to us: “I really appreciate your virtual meetings. You taught me how to use new technologies and means of communication. I congratulate and thank you for your effort in organizing each day and thanks to each speaker. Thanks to you, today I have tools and new and reverted knowledge, and methodologies to face the future, taking good steps after I finish high school. With all my heart, thank you very much "

After this National Meeting and while we are finishing the training courses for employment that this year reached more than 300 young people, we are contacting companies to inquire about their active job searches and recommending young people from Cimientos.

In the last 2 months we shared more than 20 job offers and there are 75 young people who this year got registered jobs thanks to our intervention.

Nicole, who entered Mercado Libre, wrote to us a few weeks ago: “I'm doing very well, I get along well with my colleagues and the managers treat me very well too. Thanks for everything! I started working seasonally, but here I am about to turn 5 months =) "

If you want to support our work so that more and more young people like Jasmine and Nicole have access to employment and training opportunities that allow them to escape poverty, please consider making a donation next Tuesday, November 30, since GlobalGiving will match every donation received on this day. You can also be of huge help if you spread the word and share our link with family and friends.

Best regards and thanks for your support,

María

Dear friends,

It is a pleassure to get in touch with you again and let you know about our latest news and projects. On our last report, we shared some of the activities that took place on the first months of the year, in which we accompanied our young students in their transition from school to higher education studies.

In this opportunity, we are very proud to share with you all some of the different actions that we were able to carry out with a lot of effort and commitment in these months:

Webinars: in order to provide tools for those young people who are pursuing their higher education, we held 2 webinars:

*"How to prepare and take a good exam". It was a workshop provided by the Pedagogical Department and the Universidad Tecnica Nacional (UTN) from Concordia. 58 students from different provinces of the country participated.

Together with Virginia Argento (volunteer and specialist in Communications) we held a workshop on Public Speaking for the presentation of exams and assignments. More than 100 young people from Cimientos and other allied organizations participated in it. Topics such as: fear of making oral presentations in public and tips to develop oratory were worked on. The workshop was very well received by participants. We invite you to listen to Virginia´s testimony -> https://fb.watch/8iKb1ZY8ls/

2nd Virtual National Youth Meeting: it was held in July and it was organized together with our “Future Graduates” team. The meeting was designed for students of the last two years of high school and already graduated youth. Professional panels, talks and workshops took place during 4 days addressing different topics in relation to the “day after school”. We had a participation of 284 young people over the four days (and 394 views on YouTube) and the recommendation indicator / Net Promoter Score (NPS) was 84%.(https://www.linkedin.com/posts/fundacioncimientos_somoseducaciaejn-somosfuturo-somosoportunidades-activity-6824467850531500032-7GJT)

We will keep up working hardly so at to continue accompanying youth in their path through high school and in their transition to higher studies or work; bringing close more and better opportunities for their future.

We are very gratefull for your support and hope to keep counting with you to achieve our goals!

Best regards,

Dear friends,

On our last report, we shared our 2020 results, mentioning all of the activities and results we could achieve and what we´ve learned while virtualizing our program during the global pandemic.

One of the things we noticed last year is that many of our young people didn´t have neither technological tools nor enough knowledge to keep up with university virtual lessons. Around 27% of the youth who graduated from high school in 2019 and had started tertiary and university careers in 2020 dropped out due to these issues and also, because they didn´t like what they have chosen to study.

That´s why this year we decided to increase the work we do to accompany their transition from high school to universities by these 4 actions:

1) On April, we held a three-day National Virtual meeting where almost 200 hundred youth participated in workshops and talks about the following subjects: Motivation as the key to success to study effectively, The first steps to take when studying a career, Tips for taking virtual lessons, Use of bibliographic resources and digital tools to study and Information on scholarships for tertiary and university studies.

2) We researched whom, of the around 25 youth that thanks to our program obtained a scholarship to start a career in 2021, only had a cell phone to take their virtual lessons and 11 of them didn´t have tablets or computers. We obtained a donation of computers that were delivered to them at the beggining of May to keep up with their studies.

3) We will be leading some other webinars to accompany them during this year. On June we will hold one about how to prepare a good exam.

4) For 300 youth who are finishing high school this year accompanied by Cimientos, we will increase our vocational workshops and talks about different careers and institutions for them to have more information to decide better what and where they can study.

We hope to keep counting with your support to be able to hold all of these strategies which are so crucial for low income youth.

Best regards,

María

Dear friends,

Undoubtedly 2020 was a very challenging year for the whole world and Fundación Cimientos was not the exception. Our team worked very hard so as to hold all of our programs and actions and continue with the accompaniment of Argentinian vulnerable youth in order to bring them more and better opportunities for their future.

The compulsory quarantine disposed by Argentinian government since March 2020 led us to necessarily review the way we work with young boys and girls who are part of Cimientos´ Graduates Network and participate of the different activities we carry forward with our programs.

We had to set up new challenges and objectives and adapt all of our actions to a virtual modality so as to fulfilling and comply with the commitments assumed with both, our youth and our partners. Well aware of this, we were able to go ahead with all of our planned activities and find new opportunities in the adversity.

We are very pleased to share with you our annual results regarding our project Give Argentine Youth a Chance:

*3296 young boys and girls, from 19 provinces, were assisted with training and job opportunities.

*504 students finished high school during 2020 and were assisted to work on their “life project”.

*2265 participants of our Graduates Network received training.

*We developed 8 training courses oriented to job search in alliance with highly recognized companies.

*92 young boys and girls studied with University scholarships and 2 obtained their graduation.

*61 beneficiaries obtained formal jobs thanks to the intermediation of our Graduates Network.

*11 young boys and girls, participants of our Graduates Network, were volunteers of Cimientos.

*For the first time, in 2020, we organized two National Virtual Meetings and 10 webinars with the participation of more than 1000 young boys and girls from all the country.

*104 organizations/companies offered job opportunities to our youth through Cimientos´Graduates Network.

*441 volunteers from 60 companies and organizations participated from different activities related to training and orientation for young boys and girls. They donated 1546 hours of volunteering.

*A mobile app, which will be launched during 2021, was developed. It aims to enhance our work and communication with young participants of our Program.

For many young boys and girls (who are part of Cimientos´Graduates Network), the possibility of being part of our trainings and courses not only favored their knowledge and learning but it also implied the opportunity of meeting and keeping in contact with others who were going through the same situations. This aspect was highly valued in the satisfaction survey we performed.

Another important matter to mention was the fact that, through virtuality we could reach with our webinars and National Meetings, many young boys and girls from different Argentinian provinces who had not had so much offer before.

2020 was, without no doubt, a very challenging year for Cimientos and for the Graduates Network.  It was a year of great learning, innovation and growth which opened new opportunities in our way of working with young boys and girls who need us.

It was thanks to your support and all of our donors that we could keep up with our work and continue accompanying Argentina´s most vulnerable youth so that they can build a better future. We are truly grateful for your kind commitment to Cimientos and hope you renew your support for this difficult year.
