Already over 10 years active for the most valuable - our children!
In late autumn 2010, the initiative for children with cancer in Wernigerode was founded, which only a few weeks later became part of the Harz Children's Cancer Association. Started with thirteen founding members, one looks today with almost 180 sponsors, honorary and active members on almost 100 events and as many supported families or affected children. With the Harz Children's Cancer Cup, the Harz Charity Run and the Cancer Forum, successful event series have been established and new projects financed. The association's board has been active since 2016 with about 65 hours per week and supports in many ways the affected families and the children affected by cancer.
Over 5,000 registrations for the Central Stem Cell Donor Registry (Zentrale Stammzellendatei), the preventive sun protection program "Sunpass", as well as the now largest recreation facility for children with cancer in Northern Germany "Haus am Bernsteinsee" could only be created through the many years of support from donors, sponsors, friends, companions and club members.
The last two years were and still are for our association - despite the hard Corona cuts a very intensive years. Many of our actions, such as our twice-yearly work at the "Haus am Bernsteinsee", typification actions, the Wolves Camp in cooperation with the Vfl Wolfsburg, the big weigh-up action for the chocolate festival of the city of Wernigerode, the annual charity run of the city of Halberstadt, the certifications in the "Sun-Pass" team, the sewing of our "Guardian Angel Pillows" or the project "Train of Hope" could not take place or only with restrictions.
After the Wolves Camp in April had to be canceled at short notice due to corona, the second Wolf camp could now be held from October 8-11. With a hygiene concept examined by the health office Gifhorn the reduced experience camp could start. Six instead of nine families with children suffering from cancer traveled from different regions to spend four eventful days at the Bernsteinsee.
We are all the more dependent on your help and donations, as the cancelled events also resulted in a loss of donations, which we use to finance projects such as family support, the costs of typing or the stays of affected families in our "Haus am Bernsteinsee". Please support us, go to our homepage and see for yourself how active our organization is on behalf of our children.
We thank you in advance for your support!
