chocolART
In the last quarter of this year, we had a lot to do. So we participated at the Chocolate fair "chocolART" in Wernigerode/Germany. At this fair we could present the work of our association & had many good conversations. In addition, a chocolate factory has created a special praline. They then offered this praline during the fair for a small donation. The result of these donations: 369 €. More information about this event are available at: http://de.calameo.com/read/004439487dd29970e0d80
We also received a very special donation from a local entrepreneur. "Donations instead of gifts" was the credo of this action. For his 60th anniversary, he asked his family & friends not to buy any gifts for him. Instead gifts, they should rather donate to our organization. The result: 4.715 € donations and if you like to read more about, please have a look https://krebskranke-kinder-harz.de.tl/#
In December we were again in the Harz University. Here we took DNA samples and sent them to the laboratory for typing. Again we have made an important contribution to expanding the database of potential donors. Collecting these samples is one side of the coin. The other side are the costs that arise. Over 65 € for a single typing. Again, we need a lot of support ( some more information: http://krebskranke-kinder-harz.de.tl/Harzer-Kinderkrebsforum.htm )

Charity Duck Race

Duck Race
Bad Harzburg/Germany: The 3rd charity duck race, organized by our organisation, could be described once again as an successful event. Even if the weather was more than rainy, many visitors and participants have found the way and brought with them the right mood.
688 small yellow ducks went to the 800m race track in the city center of Bad Harzburg. The rough river "Radau" and his numerous stone obstacles did not make the journey of all this small ducks easy. The first duck finished after 35 minutes and the winner, a man from Goslar, received a balloon trip. The members of our association made a great job in- and outside of the water, so that all ducks could reach the finish line.
This event is always a great opportunity for us to get in contact with the people who are taking part. Talking about our work is very important in order to meet our own requirements. We would like to bring many people closer to this very difficult topic, for an better understanding about the needs of the affected families
Also 2018 will be called again: Ready, steady, go Ducks !

Handover of 550 donation by SV Westerbeck
Numerous events in recent weeks have made our project known. In particular the support of 2 local sports clubs has affected us. Avery Kolle, director of our non-profit organization "Haus am Bernsteinsee", was invited by the sports club SV Gifhorn and whose representatives handed over their donation of 500, -€. These amount is an result of a football tournament, organized by the SV(sport club) Gifhorn.
Also the SV(sport club) Westerbeck has organized a football tournament, named "The Edeka Cup". The football match brought a proud profit ...- and what we can say is that 555 € of it were donated to our project "Holidays from cancer-Where Children can relax!".
At this point we would also like to mention the different smaller donations. Thank you for supporting this great project and providing the opportunity to reach our goal.
But we still have a long way to go. Our holiday resort for families with children with cancer is really strongly booked. We really need the new holiday home. This is the only way to give the affected families a short break.
