Holidays from Cancer - Where Children Can Relax!

Dear supporters,

another quarter is over and we want to inform with our newsletter about what has happened during the last couple of month. We are all still in Olympic fever. The kids of the Diesterweg primary school Halberstadt were able to collect €525 for children with cancer with a donation run! In summer temperatures, the running rounds were completed and in our opinion this deserves special recognition.

Also the cultural part of our supporters was also given. Le Bistro 38 presents the third "Benefit for Kids" for Children's Cancer Aid.A local restaurant operator from Wernigerode was tackling it. On August 10th, from 6-10 p.m. in front of the creperie in Burgstraße it took place - The "Benefits for Kids", a concert with four different acts. In addition to good marketing for our association, we could also look forward to further donations. A great event that will certainly find its continuation.

Even personal events can also lead to the support of our association. Giving is more beautiful than taking! For this reason, Jörg Könnecke from Schwanebeck wanted to go to his 60th birthday with no birthday gifts. He preferred to collect donations for our association. And he did that incredibly well. He was able to hand over €1,000 to our chairman Avery Kolle. 

There was renewed support from the Landschulheim Grovesmühle. For example, a donation check for €3,000 could be handed over to our chairman, which will continue to support us in the association in supporting families with children with cancer. 

Dear supporters, these few examples should show you that with our commitment and all the initiatives, we can draw local attention to ourselves and also receiving amazing support. But we want to reach all the supporters here who do not live here in the area or have any kind of other personal contact with us. 

But we need exactly your support. We still have a variety of great projects in our heads, we would like to support and accompany the families with children with cancer even more intensively. That's why we would be happy if you were willing to donate some money here through this portal. Any amount is welcome and we are also happy to see that our community of helpers and supporters is growing, which is a confirmation of our work for us.

The calendar year 2024 is already a few months shorter and you too are noticing how time is running out. In terms of our work, the first quarter was once again characterised by making ourselves visible through our presence at various events, keeping in touch with our main partners and preparing our fantastic holiday resort for children with cancer for the season.

We would like to share some of the highlights with you.  

OKE-Kinderhilfe donates 3,000 euros to the Harz children's cancer charity

KKF Fels GmbH & Co. KG from Goslar is one of 15 individual companies in the OKE Group and is known for the production of single and multi-component parts for European car manufacturers. The Group's own organisation, OKE-Kinderhilfe, has been financing many projects in Germany and abroad for years. The association was able to hand over a donation cheque for €3,000 to our charity. The money will go towards the Verein für krebskranke Kinder Harz e.V. for the further expansion and maintenance of the recreational facility, which is now almost fully utilised again after the pandemic. 

"Girls' Market" (Mädelsmarkt) Halberstadt - a premiere with great success

Women's power generates donations! We received another great donation in the last few days. The girls' market gives young female entrepreneurs from the region the opportunity to introduce themselves.  Whether beauty, essential oils, handmade bags or jewellery. The entrance fees, stand fees and revenue from the flea market were donated to our association and we received a cheque in the amount of €11,565.

Spring cleaning at our holiday resort for children with cancer and their families

On a Saturday in March, numerous helping hands were mobilised and our facility at Bernsteinsee was brought out of its hibernation. A large container of leaves was raked, slides were repaired, fresh paint was painted and the houses were spick and span - after all, the first family will be moving in this week to recover after a long illness! 

Even though we receive numerous donations, the general willingness to do so is declining somewhat. The economic uncertainty and the wars in Ukraine and Israel make our needs seem smaller. We therefore need all the support we can get and it would be great if we could persuade you and your families, friends and relatives to support us. We would like to thank you in advance.
