Promise kept - EUR 800 for 80th birthday! -
The "Association for Children with Cancer Harz e.V." was only a few weeks old when the first donation to support our upcoming work was announced.
Arno Lange from Wernigerode celebrated his 70th birthday and instead of presents, he ask his freind and family for money given to him, which he then handed over to the first chairman of the association, Avery Kolle.
"For his 70th birthday, Arno Lange gave us 700 euros; it was our first donation to the association and we were more than proud that we could now take the first steps!" the chairmansaid.
In conversation with his wife, he said at that time that when he would become 80th, then he would remember of us again. The time was running fast, exactly 10 years went into the country, unfortunately, his wife was is ill with cancer and died and he has moved to the Altmark area, very close to our vacation resort at the Bernsteinsee. There we've scheduled the hand over of his donation of 800 Euro for his 80th birthday. Avery was able to show the facility to Mr. Lange, who was again very enthusiastic about the entire project. At the end there was the promise made by him: when he will be 90 years old, then ... - you know!
Hiking against cancer - 10.000,00 EUR run and hiked! - Uwe Lauer from Blankenburg and his wife Marianne raised an unbelievable 10,000.00 EUR donation for the "Association for Children with Cancer Harz e.V." withe the "Hiking against cancer" campaign, which they launched on May 28, 2021 and incidentally got hundreds of people moving.
They themselves were surprised by the huge response to their - now third - fundraising campaign for the "Association for Children with Cancer Harz e.V." Quite a lot of companies, different sports clubs and the residents of our Blankenburg have contributed four to the success of this initiative". In particular also the"Blankenburger Volleyballfreunde" had the whole of June over the Hiking stamp points of the "Harzer Wandernade" around Blankenburg cared for, which were advertised in a special booklet. A wonderful idea, which at the same time was good for the health of the many donors.
