Finding sources of joy during challenging times
United against superstition and the pandemic
We hope that you and your loved ones are hanging in there and are in good health.
This pandemic seems to never end and we are all being tested on our patience and mental well-being. Every day, we look for comfort and energy in even the smallest things.
The healing powers of music
At Land of Hope, we make sure to surround ourselves with music daily. Music and dance are core parts of African culture so, of course, both our children and staff sing all the time—during cooking, laundry, dishwashing, showering, walking etc. The music classes and instruments are extremely popular.
Art also helps to provide a sense of expression and freedom in the middle of a pandemic. The children, along with art class teacher Joeberry, recently showcased their paintings in a small exhibition and they have reason to feel proud. We've got some serious talent at Land of Hope!
