Dear donor,
We are back with the first report of 2025 and hope you are well out there.
Emergency Rescue
In January, we received an urgent call about an 8-year-old girl facing death threats after being accused of witchcraft in her church. Found tortured and hiding in the bush, she needed urgent medical attention. We were able to rescue her and provide immediate care. In just four days, her transformation was remarkable – a testament to how your generosity creates a real, life-saving impact.
Academic Achievement
Twelve years ago, during Anja's first rescue mission, we met a young girl named Uduak. What began with a barefooted child running to embrace us has blossomed into an inspiring success story. Today, we proudly celebrate Uduak's achievement of earning her National Diploma in Mass Communication. This two-year program in Nigeria has given her a strong foundation for her future.
Reuniting Families
As the new school term began, we witnessed heartwarming moments while collecting our children from their family visits in various communities: Queen proudly showing off her new dress from her auntie, Edet sharing tales of helping his mother on the farm, and Peace and Faith cherishing extended time with their parents and younger sister. These precious family bonds represent a remarkable transformation from where we started 12 years ago. Many of these children once faced witch accusations, but through our dedicated work, we've helped rebuild these family connections. Today, seeing our children enjoying vacations with their loved ones - from Imaobong spending quality time with her grandmother to our university students returning from their village stays - stands as a testament to our mission of fighting both poverty and superstition.
