Help Fund a Children's Burn Unit in Uganda

A great thanks to all our donors supporting this project. Many children with burns are given a chance to receive the best treatment and care at whispers Magical children's hospital and Maternity and on discharge, we continue to monitor these children untill they fully recover.

This month we have received quite a number of patients with burns and most of them are burnt 75% of the their whole body!

We continue to receive more of such cases, and they are usually brought when they are almost rotting since they first mange with local herbs like charcoal at home. this slows down the healing process of the burns since they get infected  plus the hygiene of the patients in the homes is not that good. most patients fear to bring children to hospitals because managing burns is quite expensive and the things we use especially for the routine dressing are expensive! which makes the whole healing prossess costly.

We have sofar raised $21,878  of $35,000 goal.  It is with your kind support that we have gone this far and we have been able to save more of the babies with burns here at whispers Magical children's hospital and Maternity. We are so appreciative of your endless support.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our esteemed Donors for helping us donate towards our burns unit for children with burns.

Whispers Magical Children Hospital and maternity has treated a very good number of patients in the past three months and 5% are babies rushed here with severe burns. Treating burns is one of the most expensive treatment in hospitals because the materials used for dressing and re- dressing are of single use like stirlized gauze and bandages. Also most of the children with burns end up going for plastic surgeries and Grafting.

Most of the children we receive for burns are rushed in by good samaritans and neighbours we admit them for  almost a whole month in our hospital on a very small fee until they get better and get discharged as out patient for re-dressing every after few days. Because the burns are usually too severe and requires grafting, we usually end up preparing for grafting in another facility on whispers account because the parents most of the times cannot afford.

Whispers also helps these children and the community through impacting knowledge in order to create awareness about how to prevent injuries caused by burns. This is done especially at the Hospital where by all the caretakers are gathered in small meetings every Tuesday and Thursday of  the week,  to be sensitised about different conditions for baby with burns needs extra care and proper hygiene in order to prevent infections.

Treatment of these burns patients is one of the most expensive procedures and services that we offer at our hospital.

Without your help, it would be hard to save the lives of these children. 

 We are very grateful with your help we were able to save the lives of so many children who had severe burns in the last three months.

Some of these children get severe burns that they may even require plastic surgery.

We are so happy that the lives of these children were saved and did not receive any deaths.

On discharge, we continue to monitor these children till they fully recover.
