This is a fundraiser for our emergency burn unit for children at Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital in Jinja, Uganda.
Many children with burns die in Ugandan hospitals. By local standards, burns are one of the more expensive conditions to treat because of the need to replace dressings frequently. Many hospitals are unable to provide the full medical and nursing support that the patient needs. Many parents have come to Whisper from other hospitals where they were told their child was unlikely to survive, but Whisper was able to treat them. With the right treatment, children typically make a full recovery.
It will keep saving many lives most especially for some of the most underprivileged children coming from the world's poorest families. The funding we are looking for will help sustain the running of our life-saving burn unit, that treated hundreds of severely burnt children since 2016.
This funding will allow us to continue to run the burn unit, and marks Whisper's hospital as one of the only places to take children with burns.
