By Abdus Sobhan | Project Leader

KARMIRHATH HOSPITAL, GAIBANDHA

“HELP TREAT 1200 POOR BANGLADESHI DIABETICS”.

PROJECT REPORT

February, 2015

A total of 354 patients attended our hospital during the last two
months; among them 6 were new patients. Necessary tests were
conducted, Guide Books given and Diabetes Awareness lessons were also
given to the new patients. Insulin as well as other medicines were
given free to poor Chronic Patients.
Case Study:
1. Asea:(Not her real name)
Asea aged 45 years, lives in Shapla para in Sadar Upo zilla, about 4
km away from Karmirhath Hospital. Her husband is a poor agriculture
labor They two kids. The kids are all school-going. The eldest kid, a
girl, is a third grader. The other kid, also a girl, is a student of
First Grade.
Asea developed diabetes a few years ago. Her husband, a day labor
could not manage any treatment for her illness.
A few months ago she learnt that Karmirhath hospital gives free
treatment to poor diabetic patients. When Asea reached Karmirhath
hospital, after a few tests, she was registered as a regular diabetic
patient, given Guide Book and awareness instructions. She is now a
regular visitor and her diabetes is now stabilized. She thanks
Karmirhath and those who helps Karmirhath with funds.
2. Moinul (Not his real name)
Moinul aged 45 years lives at Ballamjhar village about five kilometers
from Karmirhath Hospital. He is a day labor. Although, Moinul
developed diabetes few years ago, he could not get any treatment due
to his poverty and due to his lack of knowledge that there are are
facilities where diseases like diabetes, tuberculosis, etc. are
treated free. However, a good-hearted person brought Moinul at
Karmirhath hospital. At the Karmirhath hospital, he was registered as
a regular diabetes patient. His diabetes has now stabilized. He is
grateful to the people who fund Karmirhath.
I personally thank Global Giving Foundation for raising funds for
Karmirhath. It is always a great help in deed.
