Fortune School of Excellence is owned by Charity Centre for Children and Youth Development (CCCYD). The school was established to provide basic primary education to orphans and vulnerable children in Solwezi Distric of Zambia. For the past two years, the school has recorded 100% pass rate for Grade seven. The current enrolment stands  at over 370 pupils. The number of pupils has gone down due to school closures as a result of the Coronavirus. However, our organization has also continued to provide virtual learning to supplement normal school learning program in partnership with Village Book Builders (VBB).

In addition  to the learning programs, the organization is also helping girls with free sanitary pads. Globally women and girls have developed their own personal strategies to cope with menstruation. These vary greatly from country to country, and within countries, dependent on an individual’s personal preferences, available resources, economic status, local traditions and cultural beliefs and knowledge or education. Due to these restrictions women often manage menstruation with methods that could be unhygienic or inconvenient. Some girls have dropped out of school due to saniatry hugine issues, hence our organization developing this program to help girls with the reusable sanitray pads.

Our organization was also supported with with Borehole by the Kansanshi Mine in the Month of August 2021.
