HELP TRANSFORM THE LIVES OF COLOMBIAN CHILDREN
"Escuela del arte de amar" (The art of loving School)
* During the last few months, we have focused our efforts on addressing fundamental issues that go beyond the classroom, achieving an exciting response from our students.
* The themes "Ayudémonos a Amar" and "Amémonos con Esmero" have become the main axes of our activities. We address fundamental emotions, from the awakening of "The Surprise" to the understanding of "The Anger”.
Vocational workshop:
Following the guiding thread of our themes, we open the doors to a universe of artistic possibilities. During two weeks full of inspiration and creativity the holiday workshop was held, clay, painting, origami, zumba, dance and recreational-sports activities became channels for personal expression and connection.
Each shared laugh and each creative stroke fueled an atmosphere of camaraderie and fraternity.
Closing the workshop with the celebration of the birthdays of the children who turned in the first semester of the year.
Children´s day:
A day full of laughter and shared emotions. Through bingo, each child received a toy, the result of the generosity of so many people.
Training Program for Affectivity and Sexuality:
We continue with the training program aimed at boys and girls from 4 to 8 years of age and their parents, the objective is to promote the harmonious development of the person in all its dimensions.
June workshop "Anger, we hear it" and July workshop "Sadness, we caress it"
During this day, parents and children shared the experiences that arose as a result of the activity assigned in the previous session.
Their enthusiasm and commitment to continue participating were clearly manifested, reflecting a genuine interest in gaining a better understanding of emotions and learning strategies for their management within the family environment.
This collaborative attitude undoubtedly contributes significantly to strengthening the ties between all members of our community.
We believe that a world full of hope is possible, thank you for dreaming with us, for being part of the dreams of children Social Center CSU
This year we begin with the training program aimed at children, adolescents, parents and guardians, its objective is to promote the harmonious development of the person in all its dimensions The program consists of 10 sessions, the first workshop aimed at children from 4 to 8 years old, where it is sought that children:
Make a relationship experience with your parents or responsible adults.
Learn to recognize primary emotions.
Develop your authority and self-knowledge.
That they learn to take care of their own body and that of others and nature.
We continue with the agreement, so that medical and nursing students continue to carry out the practices, in the CSU community.
They carry out medical evaluations to the families. Through epidemiological studies, they identify the diseases that mainly affect the community, thus prioritizing the interventions to be carried out. Since pollution is one of the major problems affecting the health of the community, periodic meetings are held with families to provide advice for the search and solutions to problems in the field of health.
Thanks to all those who make this dream of working with and for the children of the community of the CSU possible!
The educational project of the CSU is embedded in the School of the Art of Loving, a teaching program, complementary to formal education, which offers pedagogical and therapeutic elements in favor of personal improvement and community building. All the activities are oriented so that the children understand that Love is communion, beauty, health and unites us as a community. The purpose of this program is to train in responsibility and mutual respect.
Instructors, who are people from the community, receive weekly training and are offered tools to accompany the children in their formative process.
All the activities of the School of the Art of Loving contribute to the personal growth of the children, instilling values that allow them to recognize themselves and others, to be more resilient and to be protagonists of their own history.
This semester we have worked on the values of fraternity, friendship, respect, service, freedom, and care for nature...where through playful activities we deepen each value.
In the commitment to take care of our planet, we have held workshops on planting and care of nature, taught by experts, and we continue to maintain the vegetable garden that began at the beginning of the year at the CSU.
Synergies have been created with other organizations. Using the 6X1 methodology and involving the CSU community, we were able to learn about the neighborhood's priorities, environmental noise was identified as one of the biggest problems affecting them, and workshops have been held to improve this situation.
The IDEAS THAT MAKE ECO project was started, it has been an intergenerational work with different associations, to train children and parents in ecology, we found that love is universal and when we unite for noble causes no matter the beliefs or the problems that may arise along the way.
The workshops were: 1. training in recycling, waste management and responsible consumption, 2. collection and collection of recyclable material and 3. training in the production of notebooks. 4.
The CSU seeks to be a safe place where the children feel listened to, loved and in family, since they live strong and painful conditions within the families and community.
The children attend the CSU every day, where they receive snacks.
December 2022
Here we are in the second semester of the school year, the children attend the Unity Social Center, for school reinforcement, have a snack and continue with the program of the School of the Art of Loving (methodology for the formation in values of children and their families).
This time has been very special for Colombia, a new president has been elected, the country has been very polarized, talking about political and social issues within families is very though.
The children in the Unity Social Center this year have worked on the "Citizen Child" project, one of the points has been the VALUE OF PEACE. this peace that is born in diversity, where each one of us can donate and be a builder of this new society, where we recognize each other as siblings... With playful activities, letters, crafts, kite making and going to the park to raise them, they have expressed what PEACE is for them...
In the other hand, a joint effort has begun with the RadaBer Foundation, and the community of the Unity Social Center, to find out the priority needs. It began with a very participatory work day that allowed the people of the community to express their needs and dreams for their neighborhood. It is a project that is just beginning...

"Thank you for the support you have given us, we are sure that you will join us in 2022".
250 children attend the CSU at different times, for school reinforcement, homework, snacks and different activities of the "School of the Art of Loving".
It is important to put children and young people at the center of the community; the experience they have at the CSU has a significant impact on family relationships, the community and the environment.
We work to support the development of each child's talents, so that they become a gift not only to their families but to the community.
A new activity is the music workshop, guitar and flute lessons are given and the choir is being organized, the children are happy to attend.
They have identified a critical point; "garbage", they meet frequently, involve the adults of the community, a state cleaning company, attend training in waste management and carry out cleaning days, in order to generate recycling habits in the community to contribute to the conservation of the environment and beautify the neighborhood.
We have started a project of urban vegetable gardens, with the participation of mothers of children attending the CSU, is an initiative that encourages healthy eating and consumption of vegetables, taking advantage of their own spaces, we will be telling you how we are going...
