Up2Me

We have completed our Affectivity and Sexuality 2023 training program, aimed at boys and girls from 4 to 8 years old and their parents.

The last workshop was “Fear, we look at it”, its objective was to provide parents with tools for the correct management of fear. Like all the workshops, it took place in a warm and participatory environment, where they could express themselves, allowing them to learn about the management of emotions.

In this year of training, the need to accompany parents who, for various reasons, are not prepared to face the emotional and sexual formation of their children was evident.

This is how it was scheduled for the year 2024 to continue with the affectivity and sexuality training program to promote complete growth, which involves all dimensions; spiritual, intellectual, relational-social, emotional, biological, historical-environmental of children and adolescents.

Walk for Peace

To reinforce the theme of “Culture of Peace” and “Active Listening”, the CSU Social Center Unity held a walk for peace. The children gave the residents of the community doves they had made with a beautiful message, “Join the Peace, subtract the violence, multiply the love, divide the sadness.”

CREATING SYNERGIES

It has been a time with many challenges for the community, this is how we see the importance of creating synergies with other people and institutions so that together we can contribute our grain of sand to support the community of the Centro Social Unidad CSU.

Rosario University

The Rosario University, through its faculties of medicine and nursing, continues to carry out internships at the Centro Social Unidad (CSU). Medical students make medical diagnoses to families every eight days, while nursing students offer health workshops to older adults and children, in addition to performing medical diagnoses in the community. All these actions have a positive impact on the local population.

Psychologist at CSU

During this period, the need for psychological support at the CSU has been noted. A psychologist friend volunteers to treat some specific cases, carrying out therapies once a week with very positive results. However, several children require this help, and it is hoped that in the future the CSU will have a permanent psychologist. Mental health is increasingly relevant in our community, and it is crucial to offer support to those who need it.

HELP TRANSFORM THE LIVES OF COLOMBIAN CHILDREN 

"Escuela del arte de amar" (The art of loving School)

* During the last few months, we have focused our efforts on addressing fundamental issues that go beyond the classroom, achieving an exciting response from our students.

* The themes "Ayudémonos a Amar" and "Amémonos con Esmero" have become the main axes of our activities. We address fundamental emotions, from the awakening of "The Surprise" to the understanding of "The Anger”.

Vocational workshop:

Following the guiding thread of our themes, we open the doors to a universe of artistic possibilities. During two weeks full of inspiration and creativity the holiday workshop was held, clay, painting, origami, zumba, dance and recreational-sports activities became channels for personal expression and connection.

Each shared laugh and each creative stroke fueled an atmosphere of camaraderie and fraternity.
Closing the workshop with the celebration of the birthdays of the children who turned in the first semester of the year.

Children´s day:

A day full of laughter and shared emotions. Through bingo, each child received a toy, the result of the generosity of so many people.

Training Program for Affectivity and Sexuality:

We continue with the training program aimed at boys and girls from 4 to 8 years of age and their parents, the objective is to promote the harmonious development of the person in all its dimensions.

June workshop "Anger, we hear it" and July workshop "Sadness, we caress it"

During this day, parents and children shared the experiences that arose as a result of the activity assigned in the previous session.
Their enthusiasm and commitment to continue participating were clearly manifested, reflecting a genuine interest in gaining a better understanding of emotions and learning strategies for their management within the family environment.
This collaborative attitude undoubtedly contributes significantly to strengthening the ties between all members of our community.
