The project seeks to change the standard of living of 232 children and their 185 families who are part of the community of the Centro Social Unidad, located in a non-privileged neighborhood of Bogota. This will be done through continuous accompaniment, courses and workshops that provide psychosocial tools that lead to improving intra-family ties and, in turn, to decrease the dropout rate, which will be reflected in a better quality of life, making them protagonists of their own history.
Currently this community has only a few psychosocial skills, which leads to low self-esteem and addictions. This problem has its origin in many causes that are linked to each other: dysfunctional families, low degree of child accompaniment, lack of a life plan, low level of education in the community in general and little social security and welfare.
Education is the door to greater opportunities! What we propose is a comprehensive and preventive education focused on values for children and their families through regular visits to homes to follow up and give them concrete support, receive them in the social center for school reinforcements, courses to enhance talents and skills and psychological accompaniment sessions, as well as literacy courses and training in various trades and entrepreneurship.
Increase the degree of psycho-social skills of children and their families, strengthen intra-family ties, reinforce the leading role of parents in the education of children, provide support to improve the school level of children and their parents, thus awakening in children and young people the desire for a better future, giving them the tools to make sound decisions professionally and socially.
