Hello supporters of IBREA El Salvador!
We recently visited El Salvador to have discussions with all our parterns in the country: the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs as well as ISBM (Institute for Educator's Wellbeing). We negotiated the terms of our work in 2016 and took the opportunity to meet all the IBREA coordinators from the different 14 Departments in the country. We also met Laura, who is doing great in University and helping IBREA activities.
We have exciting 2016 plans to share with you, including the establishment of an IBREA training and research center in San Salvador, and developing research indicators to measure our program's contribution to the UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in the country. We will also provide Instructor Training to 300 teachers who are part of the Government's Capacity Building program for Teachers, and are meant to be mentors for other teachers.
After five years of IBREA's presence in El Salvador, there are over 1,000 educators certified by IBREA and they are ready to take more ownership and make the program sustainable. The long term goal is to increse the impact of IBREA's work on reducing violence and improving socio-economic conditions in the communities where we have been working - through the growth and increased confidence of individuals receiving the program.
Please keep being a part of this process and make your donation today! We need a lot of support, especially to establish the Center in San Salvador.
Thank you so much.
