Teacher housing is so important to residents of these rural villages as without a secure place for the educators to stay, they would not be able to consistently show up to the classrooms. Poor roads, weather, and political instability inhibit teachers from traveling from their hometowns to the villages where they teach.
We have three teacher house construction projects planned for the next fiscal year. As you can imagine, infrastructure is the most expensive program we support. Due to the remote location of our villages, rough roads, and labor needs, building anything is a feat. We are dedicated to supporting our partner villages to build these safe, welcoming spaces for the teachers that are giving so much in order to educate the youth of rural Myanmar villages.
