Training the trainers
By Margarita Kaleynska | Chair of the Board
For the first time in three years, the team of GLOW Leadership Academy will meet in person prior to the Academy itself. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in previous years, we were training our junior trainers online. Happily, after so many years of restrictions, the GLOW team will gather together in February for an inspiring short teambuilding seminar.
The staff members, girls 16 to 18 years old from all over Bulgaria have already started working on planning the activities to be included and the updates in the program. During the seminar, led by our senior alumni, the trainers will learn more about how to moderate a discussion, manage their time, plan a session, and differentiate the learning process based on the needs of their team. Special focus was placed on improving their emotional intelligence in order to be better team leaders and provide the support the future campers will need.

80 girls from all over Bulgaria gathered this summer in Veliko Tarnovo to work together and inspire each other. For the first time since the pandemic outburst GLOW Leadership Academy was conducted without any restrictions and specific measures.
The participants came from 19 different communities all over the country. They undertook the seven-day life-changing experience which is GLOW Leadership Academy with much enthusiasm and dedication. Our team of youth trainers tested successfully the reworked methodology specifically suited for the needs of the new generation. To the main subjects covered in the training such as communication, aim setting, leadership, and self-confidence, this year our program included sessions on financial education basics, journaling, and neuro-linguistics.
The trainers and the participants planned and conducted together a large social campaign in the city of Veliko Tarnovo dedicated to overcoming social anxiety and fear results of the pandemic situation in Bulgaria in the last years. The campaign attracted more than 400 citizens from the town that took part in the prepared games and activities by the girls.

GLOW 2022 is almost here
By Margarita Kaleynska | Chair of the Board
With only a month left till Leadership academy GLOW 2022, the final preparations are taking place. After a double-blind evaluation of each application, 65 girls from all over Bulgaria were selected to take part in the camp this summer.
The team of young trainers of Leadership academy GLOW actively prepares the presentations and the materials needed for the sessions. Several new subjects were included in the program based on a study of the current needs of the young Bulgarian girls. New skill-building activities were introduced in order to make the program even more practice-oriented and to better equip the participants for the labor market. This year changes in the logistics will also be made based on the current health situation in the country and for the first time in two years, the activities for the participants will be conducted both outdoors and indoors.
With great enthusiasm, the team of Leadership academy GLOW 2022 is looking forward to the camp that your donations make possible! Thank you for your support!
