Everyday we get patients from all around Colombia looking for help with their newborn condition.
We are glad to treat kids like Ian in order to try to make their lives as easy as possible, because not only they have cleft lip and palate, but their social conditions are not the best.
Ian was born on march 17th 2017. In a very young family form by mom and dad(mom 25 years old, dad 22 years old) grandma and aunt. It was an unwanted pregnancy, which makes it a bigger surprise when the news of cleft lip and palate arrives. The feelings of anxiety desperation and fear took over the family.
Fortunately They found Fisulab through the clinic he was born in.
Ian is now an active member of our community, assisting monthly to an early age development workshop, in which he gets to interact with other babies with the same conditions and his parents learn how to treat and deal with their son through parenting guidelines from our professionals in speech therapy, phycology, social work.
Ian also comes to Fisulab for a treatment in pediatric dentistry called nasoalveolar molding to prepare his face for his first surgery that´s scheduled for two months from now.
