In 1970, a dark incident shook Medellin (Colombia): three children, victims of poverty and indifference, lost their lives in a fire inside a garbage can where they were seeking shelter on a cold night.
That tragedy left a deep scar, but it also lit a spark of love, from which emerged what is today SUPERARSE. Offering thousands of children a safe roof, food and love, convinced that every child deserves a dignified life, over the years, this cause has impacted the lives of thousands of children in situations of risk and vulnerability.
We know, however, that the true transformation occurs in the classrooms, where children can learn, dream and prepare for a different future. Thus, the objective evolved: providing not only shelter and a home, but also a quality education. Today, after more than five decades of hard work, the foundation faces a new challenge: to refurbish classrooms, renew technology and equip children with modern tools, such as computers, that allow them to compete in a digital world. Classrooms need to be transformed into inspiring spaces, where every child can discover their potential and build a bright future.
Each step forward recalls that fire of 1970, but not as a tragedy, but as the beginning of a story of resilience. From the ashes of that event arose a movement that not only saved lives, but also sowed hope. Now, with the support of those who believe in the power of education, the foundation continues to write a story of overcoming that shows that, even in the worst circumstances, a future full of possibilities can flourish.
Because every child deserves more than just surviving: they deserve to dream, learn and fly towards their own destiny.
Join us and help us make Superarse a space of learning and growth for vulnerable children, this December 3 on GIVINGTUESDAY
