Thank you for empowering women in India and providing them with a sewing machine. Your gift is helping poor women have the opportunity to attend a tailoring school where they learn how to sew.
Many women live in poor, rural villages and have little education or skills for work. Your gift is life changing. After 6 months of training, they receive a free sewing machine along with a certificate of completion.
Thirty-six women recently completed their training. There are nine schools in operation and they have a total of 96 women enrolled in their classes.
Because of your compassion, you are helping women like Aruna support her family. She is married and has two young girls. Her husband's wages aren't enough to meet the family's daily expenses. Aruna wanted to learn tailoring so she could do something with her hands to earn money. She wanted to help her family thrive.
Aruna has graduated from a government certified tailoring program. She received a new sewing machine and is now helping to support her family by sewing clothes! Her girls have a great role model in their mom. Thank you for changing Aruna's life and the lives of her whole family.
With your help, 60 women completed their six months of tailoring training in December, and each received a treadle sewing machine to start her own home business. One hundred six other women are enrolled in training, 36 of whom will graduate in the coming months. These women are enrolled in the newest schools and the inaugurations took place in the fall.
Mary just completed her training. She is married with two children, but her husband abandoned them. Without his income, the family slipped even further into poverty. With the training completed, certificate in hand and a treadle sewing machine, Mary now earns enough to feed her children and ensure they can go to school.
Thank you for changing this mom’s life and the lives of her children!

Santha is a recent graduate who received a sewing machine. She is happy that she can start her own tailoring business to help her family.
Santha and her family struggled financially. She and her husband had a difficult time supporting their two children with a limited income. Her husband works as a daily laborer. It's not a permanent job because he only works whenever there is a job available. They couldn't afford to send their children to school and Santha wanted to do something to help her family.
When Santha heard about the tailoring school in her village, she applied for it and got accepted. After months of training, she now has the skills to earn an income to help her family. With her sewing machine, she sews clothes and is able to earn enough money to take care of her family and send her children to school!
Santha says she feels blessed for the opportunity and is grateful for her sewing machine. Thanks to you, Santha and her whole family are reaping the benefits of your generous gift.
