Bhanu was unable to go to school as a child because both of her parents had passed away. She was a child laborer, doing work in various homes until she got married. Having to take care of her house and her two young daughters, Bhanu was unable to go out and work. Her husband is a painter, but did not make enough money to provide for the entire family.
But then, a neighbor told Bhanu told her about a free tailoring school. Now, she is learning new skills that she will use to provide for her family! Her children will be able to eat well and go to school.
She says: "Thank you for this great opportunity. I will learn this skill and utilize this for my family's welfare."
It is difficult for women in India to balance work and raising children and keeping home. But because of the tailoring schools you support, 84 women like Bhanu are empowered and can take care of their homes.
