Last month I was in India. As I visited our Partners, I was struck by the poverty of the women who are asking to be trained as part of our tailoring schools. I came face to face with the very women whose lives you change through your generosity. Rani is one of those women.
Rani’s parents were divorced when she was young, and she lived with her mother. Her mother became ill and decided she needed to get Rani married soon. Her social status left her with few choices, so the man she arranged for Rani can neither speak nor hear. Rani did not finish school and her husband cannot find work. They have two sons. Both her mother and brother have since passed away.
When you Give a sewing machine to a mom in India you give them the opportunity to move from a life of extreme poverty to one of self sufficieny.
The poverty of these women has affected their health, both physical and mental, and like Rani many of them have little children. You are the difference between suffering and thriving when you provide training for them.
Rani and hundreds of other women say thank you – thank you for changing their lives forever!
With gratitude,
John Sparks

p.s. Thank you for being the difference for Rani and other women like her that lack the means to support themselves. You are their catalyst for change.
