Dear Friend,

Thank you for your amazing and generous support! You are helping a mother like Vajja find hope during a dark and depressing time.

Vajja is a young, widowed mother. After her husband passed away, she moved back home and was left as the sole provider for her child. She felt hopeless...

"I didn't know where my life was going," said Vajja. "I was suffering without any financial support because I didn't have a job and I couldn't find work. Sometimes I thought it would be better to die with my child rather than live with these struggles."

But you stepped in and your gift provided hope to Vajja. Today, she attends an India Partners Tailoring School which empowers women living in poverty in rural villages and provides them with valuable business and sewing skills. She will also get a
sewing machine so they can start their own tailoring business from home.

When Vajja got accepted into our tailoring school, she was so happy. She never thought she could get in because she couldn't afford the fees, but your gift paid for tuition and gave her a chance to succeed.

"I will definitely use this wonderful opportunity for the future of my son and my personal needs. Thank you for your support!" said Vajja.

You are making an incredible difference in the lives of mothers in India who often feel trapped in poverty. Your gift is providing them with the training they need to be self-sustainable.

Thank you for helping Marri!
Thank you for helping Marri!

Marri is the mother of two boys and one girl. Her husband is a heavy drinker and often spends half of his wages on alcohol. Marri was unable to work as she needed to stay home to take care of her children. The family racked up debts for food and basic needs.

Then everything changed. Marri had the wonderful opportunity to learn to tailor for free and learned many varieties of stitching techniques that allow her to sew both women's wear and children's clothes.

Initially, Marri was making a small amount but now her daily income has more than doubled! She is earning enough money to begin the repayment of debts that her family took on previously. Best of all, Marri is looking forward to helping other women who are in similar situations.

Marri is incredibly grateful for the ability she now has to provide for her family and give her children a better life. "Without this tailoring school, I wouldn't have any opportunity to reach this position I have now!" she says, "and I will never forget this help in my lifetime."

Thank you for empowering women through sewing!

Aakula in front of her sari shop's items
Aakula in front of her sari shop's items

Aakula is the mother of two daughters. She only studied until the seventh grade, and her husband works in construction. The family struggled financially and feared for their future often.

Aakula entered the tailoring school, and her life was turned upside down. She had the opportunity to learn a variety of stitching techniques, but she really loved to make women's clothing.

After a few months of working as a tailor, Aakula saved up enough money to start her own sari shop! She now runs her very own store and continues tailoring as well to bring income into her home. Even better, she is now giving back and teaching other women in poverty how to sew.

Because of your generosity, Aakula says she "is able to make a living and all our needs are met with dignity." She is so thankful for this opportunity to turn her life around.

Thank you for empowering women through sewing!

Nagadurga now has the tools to provide!
Nagadurga now has the tools to provide!

For daily wage laborers, any sort of emergency expense can create steep, debilitating debt.

This was the case for Nagadurga and her family. Her husband works in the field, but Nagadurga's health is not good enough for her to join him. She also only has a sixth grade education, further hindering her job options.

Nagadurga and her children have suffered with many diseases, so the family spends much of the money they earn on medicine. This leaves very little funds for other essentials, especially food. Nagadurga was constantly stressed over how to provide for her children.

Then, her friend told her about tailoring schools. Nagadurga applied and is now learning to sew! She will gain the skills needed to work from home while earning enough to cover both medical expenses and basic needs. She says:

"I am very happy and eager to learn tailoring skills and hope for the future. Thank you for giving me this wonderful opportunity."

It's because of you that women like Nagadurga has the opportunity to rise out of extreme poverty!

Women learn how to provide for themselves
Women learn how to provide for themselves

Thank you, friend! Your support is making life-changing differences for poor women in India. Because of you, these women are getting a chance to rise out of poverty and take care of their daily needs.

Bhanu was unable to go to school as a child because both of her parents had passed away. She was a child laborer, doing work in various homes until she got married. Having to take care of her house and her two young daughters, Bhanu was unable to go out and work. Her husband is a painter, but did not make enough money to provide for the entire family.

But then, a neighbor told Bhanu told her about a free tailoring school. Now, she is learning new skills that she will use to provide for her family! Her children will be able to eat well and go to school.

She says: "Thank you for this great opportunity. I will learn this skill and utilize this for my family's welfare."

It is difficult for women in India to balance work and raising children and keeping home. But because of the tailoring schools you support, 84 women like Bhanu are empowered and can take care of their homes.
