Thanks to your incredible generosity the children at the HTDC orphanage are all safe and happy. They’ve also all settled in well to a new school year.
Carlo the Orphanage Director had this to say:
“The kids are all doing good in Jesus name.
They all start this year of school very well. All is good so far with their subject and they will have their first exam for this semester next week. So, they are studying very hard to get good grade.
For history we celebrate Jean-Jacques Dessalines who was the first President of Haiti after independence. He was the chief commander who fought for our freedom and very important for the kids to know about. October 17 was the 212 year anniversary of his death and we have a special lesson that day.
The kids enjoy learning about Dessalines and enjoying other lessons too. We also have a couple of poor kids from the community that comes to our school everyday. We give them lunch with the rest of the kids so that are not hungry in afternoon class.
This year we also have an English teacher and a helper who does musical dance and sport. The kids love this and they are very happy to the donors who help them learn. Thank you to everyone”
We echo Carlo’s thanks, without you none of this would be possible. Thanks so much!
At the moment all is well at HTDC, but the rent’s due again soon and the orphanage will need to pay $10,500 for 2019. Thanks to your donations to our microprojects we’ve already secured around $6,500 of this, but we’re continuing to raise funds right here on GlobalGiving to find the rest.
So, if you are able to make a further gift it will be as crucial as always!
If you ever have any questions about the orphanage and how we use your donations, please don’t hesitate to email Andy@IDVolunteers.org. I would be delighted to hear from you.
