The holidays looked different for so many this past year but, thanks to your generosity, Family Giving Tree was able to deliver joy to 52,886 children, adults, and seniors in the Bay Area. Like Family Giving Tree, many of our partner social service agencies had to alter our original plans to ensure our community members could still receive their gifts in time.
One of our partners decided to schedule appointments and do a drive-thru setup. While the families couldn’t open gifts together as a group, this no-touch method to distribute gifts was made extra special by a visit from a beloved DC comic book character, Batman, who handed the specific gifts to the families.
The looks on the families’ faces were filled with awe and excitement. It’s not every holiday you see your favorite hero let alone have them deliver your gifts. We are so thankful for how all of our partners find creative ways to deliver joy and offer hope to our community during difficult times. It proves that the magic of the holiday season is created by people who care, like you.
