DESERTS TO GREEN FARMS

By Asif Jah | Project Leader

Respected Donors, Seasons Greetings! I am delighted to share that CHCS has been making remarkable strides in its mission to transform desert fields into flourishing green farms. This significant progress has been achieved despite limited funding, thanks to a dedicated partnership with the GlobalGiving Foundation. Over the past six months, CHCS has successfully established eight new green farms. These farms play a crucial role in the community by providing essential vegetables and fodder for livestock, as well as creating a sustainable source of income for the impoverished residents of Thar. The establishment of these green farms has had a transformative impact on the local economy and the livelihoods of many families. By enabling the cultivation of seasonal crops, CHCS has empowered the people of Thar to become self-sufficient and improve their quality of life. These farms have become a cornerstone of the community, offering not just food security but also economic opportunities in an area that has long struggled with harsh desert conditions and limited agricultural prospects. However, the demand for more green farms and the necessary infrastructure, particularly water wells, has been growing rapidly. Water is a critical resource for sustaining these green farms, and the limited availability of funds poses a significant challenge to expanding these initiatives. The success of the existing farms has highlighted the potential for further development, but this potential can only be realized with additional financial support. In light of these challenges, we earnestly appeal to donors from around the world to contribute generously. Your donations will directly support the establishment of new green farms and the drilling of water wells, ensuring that more families in Thar can benefit from these life-changing projects. With your help, CHCS can continue its vital work of improving the socio-economic conditions in Thar, fostering a more resilient and prosperous community. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a profound difference. Together, we can help turn more desert fields into green farms, providing hope and a sustainable future for the people of Thar. Thank you for your generosity and support in this important endeavor. Regards, Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah
