Customs Health care society will make 25 green farms near the drought hit villages of Thar, Pakistan. This will provide fresh food to people of Thar and grass and fodder for animals. Using solar powered wells, water will be provided to the farm. Water from the well can also be used for drinking and domestic purposes in Thar.
Desert of Thar is 20000 sq km area in Pakistan where water is scarce and hard to find. The Thar is one of the most heavily populated desert areas in the world with the main occupations of its inhabitants agriculture and animal husbandry. Animal husbandry, trees and grasses, inter-cropped with vegetables or fruit trees, is the most viable model for arid, drought-prone regions. Due to lack of rain, water is very precious and hard to come by therefore Deserts of Thar is prone to Droughts.
Customs Health Care Society will installed Solar Powered well near the most drought hit villages of Thar. Using these solar powered well water will be used to irrigate near by land where villagers will grow native crops and used these crops as food. Water from these wells are also be used as drinking and domestic purpose for that a large tank will be made near the water well for the continuous supply of drinking water for the village.
This project will not only fulfill drinking & domestic water needs of drought hit villages of Thar but also water from solar powered pumps will irrigate the fields. These field will be the source of food for the people of village & provide grass for animals. Cultivation of land near their home will free these villages from heavy loans and fulfill their food demands near home. Our project will benefit around 12000 person in Thar. Women and children will benefit most from this.
