Mobile Pharmacy Van: Distribution Free Meds!
Mobile Pharmacy Van: Distribution Free Meds!

We are happy and proud to announce the launch of the Mobile Pharmacy Van!
The van was delivered end February and immediately hit the road, delivering free medication to hundreds of people all across Israel.

The van has solved a challenging situation we confronted: How do we safely deliver the medication to the people, in a temperature controlled environment? The Mobile Pharmacy Van includes temperature monitoring and a GPS System per each medicine-delivery box, which enables us to know at any moment where each package is.

Thank you!

It took us two years to get here; now we're working hard to finance the maintenance costs (boring, we know, but necessary to get the van out the door).

Join us - these wheels save lives, minimize pain, bring help and relief across the country.

Providing Free Meds to Those Who Need Them Most
Providing Free Meds to Those Who Need Them Most

During 2015, Haverim supplied a record-breaking number of 42,000 packages of FREE medication all over Israel.

Or motto is: Donate medicine you no longer need -to those who can't afford it.

The packages are supplied to patients in need of chronic, pain-relieving or life-saving medications, but are unable to meet even the minimal deductibles.

Every month, over 3,000 people receive the package, either hand-delivered by our network of volunteers, or by registered mail. The patients are referred by the social services, and following rigorous sorting by professional pharmacists, the medicines are delivered directly to the patients via a volunteer courier or registered mail.

Haverim enjoys the support of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Israel and abroad. Our partners provide support in several ways: by donating close-to-expiration medicine, by providing 'compassion care' medicine provided for free, by underwriting the cost of treatments, and more.

We thank our supporters, who have enabled us to meet the demands of more and more patients every year.

The Free Medicine project has been successfully active for the last 14 years. We currently send out over 4,000 packages of free medicine every month to people all over Israel. However, the requests for free medication never cease to rise. We need to be able to deliver medicine even faster, to people who urgently need medical equipment, supplements, medicine and more - all over the country.

As a result, we came up - and implemented - a novel idea: A Mobile Pharmacy van, which will set out every day to a different city, to distribute medicine to our recipients in a timely, professional and respectful manner.

Thanks to supporters from Australia, Panama and Israel, we have succeeded in acquiring one such van, which is currently being tailored to serve as a fully servicable 'Pharmacy on Wheels', registered and approved by the Ministry of Health.

We plan to activate the van beginning of 2016 and promise to share photos!

Thanks to the van, we will be able to serve more people, more quickly and in a more cost effective manner, diverting funds to acquiring medicine, rather than to mailing them.

Every month we deliver over 3,300 packages of free medicine to people all over Israel. We receive an average of one call every five minutes, each with a heart-breaking story.

Last month, we received a letter from a long-term receiver of our Free Medicine project:

"Following two open-heart surgeries I was in urgent need of expensive, chronic medication. Words cannot express
the care you demonstrated. I am brought to tears when I speak of you and your blessed deeds”."
Avraham P.
Hatzor Haglilit

We receive dozens of letters every week. But there is still much work still to be done, more people to reach, more medicine to gather.
