Learning from Testimonials and Outside Endeavors

By Dean Sinco | pro

As the school year almost comes to close by the end of this month, much has been acquired by these student scholars in the various aspects of learning while studying at Foundation University College of Nursing.

Apart from the learnings acquired through lectures and discussions, activities such as the recently held College Week Celebration opened new horizons and gave new ideas for the student nurses to have a full grasp of their future profession.

During the said weeklong activity, alumni nurses who are practicing the profession were invited to share their insights and experiences to the student nurses. Though delivered in spoken words, aided by still photos and videos, the experiences told by alumni nurses edified and inspired the students to embrace fully the pains and the joys of the noble profession related with healthcare.

The core value of service to other people is at the forefront of the nursing profession and that’s what the student nurses grasped from the testimonials.

One of the most important things that happened during the week was an extension activity which enabled student nurses from all levels to learn from the community. Health stations spread within the University peripheries served the students, faculty members and staff.

This manner of learning beyond the classroom activities enriches and inspires the person’s very core to pursue the nursing profession. It serves as an effective tool to determine weaknesses and strengths of each individual in order to grow and to be of better service to society.
