CHILDREN AWARENESS PROGRAM - A VISIT TO THE BANK
CHILDREN AWARENESS PROGRAM - A VISIT TO THE BANK

CHILDREN AWARENESS PROGRAM – A VISIT TO THE BANK

Banking is not just about depositing cash or withdrawing money but a vast and wide field. Imparting knowledge of the functioning of the bank at this age could develop the habit of saving.

On 26th May 2023, the children of Janani Home were taken to the State Bank of India, Main Branch at Puducherry for an exposure visit. The children came to know that there are different people in the banks to assist us. The children were very delighted to see the A.T.M machine. They were very happy to know about it. The children had a glance at the room where the currency is arranged to be kept in the ATM machines. It was an informative trip for the children.

One of the employees of the bank took care of the children and explained to them the functioning of the bank in an elaborate manner.

English and Mathematics sessions in Janani Home

Maths and English are foundational skills for young learners. It is important to educate children well, by giving them the necessary skills in Maths and English, which helps them to build confidence, improve their social and communications skills, and understand the world around them. These two invaluable skills contribute to a child’s success, as they transition from childhood to adulthood.

A family who lived in USA for a long time now settled down at Puducherry. Their children who are doing 10th and 12th standar are volunteering to teach English (to read and speak) and basic math including Algebra during the Sundays for the children in Janani Home.

They wish to incorporate spoken English through games and board games for the young girls in the forthcoming Sundays. The children enjoy the sessions and are eager to learn.

Dignity to the aged- Programs offered

Prime Trust collaborates with Amaithi Illam at Puducherry to conduct sessions for the aged people. It is pertinent to note that elderly people are not getting care and support from their families and they are in a difficult situation. It is seen that more elderly care homes are coming up nowadays run by voluntary organizations.

From the 18th to the 23rd of May 2023, an Intern, Miss. Shruthi, who is pursuing a Master’s in Social Work from the Rajagiri College of social sciences, Kerala conducted multiple sessions for the aged people.

The sessions included Laughing therapy, physical exercises, breathing techniques, activities to build team spirit, Personal Hygiene and Cleanliness, and Dance programs. It was made as entertainment for the inmates. It was a pleasant experience and a good

Badminton Time at Janani Home

One of the important benefits of playing badminton is that it boosts up muscle strength making you strong and fit. Continuing movements and hits in badminton strengthen your heart muscles. The vibrant game of badminton is a healthy habit to ward off your stress hormones.

By making it a habit our muscles become flexible and strong. Having a good metabolism with a high metabolic rate is vital for a healthy life. Having a healthy badminton match every day reduces the risk of bone fractures. Apart from physical benefits, the mental benefits of playing badminton are more striking and interesting.

Every day children at Janani Home spend time playing badminton. Children are excited to play. They do cycling and also take up running and jogging exercises.

We thank all our donors from GlobalGiving for your wonderful support!

Interns at Prime Trust

An internship is an official program offered by organizations to help train and provide work experience to students and recent graduates. By partaking in an internship, you will be able to gain real-life exposure, grow your knowledge, and determine if you are in the right career field. Internships not only provide you with first-hand experience in the real working world but also enable you to understand the career trajectory for your desired job title.

Four MBA interns from S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai, one of the premier management schools in India, were doing their internship for a period of one month with Prime Trust from 09.03.2023. They were involved with upgrading and enhancing information in social media, preparation of posters and pamphlets, streamlining our social media pages, promoting campaigns, and helping us in performing market research.
