First Aid session for the children
First aid is an important tool in quickly responding to accidents to ensure that injuries can be efficiently and promptly dealt with before a trained medical professional arrives to administer more specialized treatment. First aid in schools is especially helpful as children often get into accidents that can need swift care in order to prevent things from escalating.
On 29.05.2023 the MSW intern from the Rajagiri College of Social sciences, Kerela conducted a session about basic First-aid for the students of evening schools in Muthialpet and Rainbow Nagar and for the girls in Janani Home. The session included primary and secondary first-aid, the DRABC method, choking and burning injuries, and how to deal with emergencies.
Origami Session for the Children
For the children of Prime Trust, summer camp was organized during their holidays. This program was very much useful for them during the vacation. With the support of volunteers and interns, classes on spoken English.
We organized a program for the children on making origami. This program was organized by an MSW Intern from Rajagiri College of social sciences, Kerala. Making Origami helps to reduce stress and promote relaxation, improve eye-hand coordination, boost creativity, enhance patience and persistence, and promote learning and education. The session was done on 26.05.2023. The children were taught to make butterflies, hearts, frocks, etc with colored paper. The children enjoyed Origami time.
CHILDREN’S AWARENESS PROGRAM-VISIT TO RAILWAY STATION
For the children of Prime Trust, summer camp was organized during their holidays. This program was very much useful for them during the vacation. With the support of volunteers and interns, classes on spoken English, Mathematics, sex education, and first aid classes were conducted.
On 26.05.2023 the children were taken to the Puducherry railway station for an exposure visit. The purpose was to acquaint the students with the transport facility used by most of the people in our country. It helped the children to get hands-on experience to observe how travel is made. The children observed the ticket counter, the name of the train, and the departure and arrival through the information board where the required information is given. For some children, it was their first experience of visiting a railway station. The visit was informative.
CHILDREN’S AWARENESS PROGRAM-VISIT TO POST OFFICE
For the children of Prime Trust, summer camp was organized during their holidays. This program was very much useful for them during the vacation. With the support of volunteers and interns, classes on spoken English, Mathematics, sex education, and first aid classes were conducted. Also, we are keen that the children should visit a local Post Office and to know how it functions.
On 27.05.2023 an educational trip to the Head Post Office, Puducherry was organized for the children. The visit to the Post Office gave students a better understanding of the role and responsibilities of the Postmaster and Postman. The postman explained how letters are collected and delivered to their destinations. The students were excited to see letters being stamped and sorted. The field trip was an enjoyable and informative experience for the children.
CHILDREN AWARENESS PROGRAM – A VISIT TO THE BANK
Banking is not just about depositing cash or withdrawing money but a vast and wide field. Imparting knowledge of the functioning of the bank at this age could develop the habit of saving.
On 26th May 2023, the children of Janani Home were taken to the State Bank of India, Main Branch at Puducherry for an exposure visit. The children came to know that there are different people in the banks to assist us. The children were very delighted to see the A.T.M machine. They were very happy to know about it. The children had a glance at the room where the currency is arranged to be kept in the ATM machines. It was an informative trip for the children.
One of the employees of the bank took care of the children and explained to them the functioning of the bank in an elaborate manner.
