Hello Everyone and Seasons Greetings to You!

We would like to share an update about Julyano, the starving stray that our vet team picked up from the side of the road, who was a subject of our last report.

Julyano has blossomed!  With the help of great nutrition and love, he is healthy and.......ready to be adopted to his new home in the UK!

Julyano had a severe injury to his back and leg.  His leg needed amputation, and his back just needed some time to heal.  He had mange and was extremely anemic when found.  Months of care have given him his health back.  Thanks to your support, we have been able to provide him and so many others in our care with the highest quality food.  Thank you!

The Center of Hope was visited by Rhodes to Safety UK Director Kerry who held a 2 day seminar on first aid procedures.  The star of the show was Julyano, who was the model "patient" as Kerry showed emergency care procedures to rescuers, shelter workers, and caregivers who attended the seminars.

In our photos you will notice the lovely Kelly, who is a vet nurse from the UK that came to work at the Center of Hope for a few months and fell in love with Julyano.  Kelly will be his forever mum as she is adopting him on December 15.

A rags to riches story for Julyano....and so very deserved.

We hope you have a lovely Holiday Season and wish you a Fabulous 2019.  Thank you with all our animals hearts for your donations that help them to survive and thrive.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Romania Animal Rescue receives many animals at our Homeless Animals Hospital program. They stay at our clinics long term, requiring treatments and care so they become strong enough to either return home or be placed for foster or adoption.

Most if not all of these animals come to us in horrible condition, starving, with injuries and parasites.  All our programs come together to help them:

Homeless Animals Hospital provides treatments and deparasite

Spay and Neuter makes sure these animals will never reproduce, the true way to stop the suffering of unwanted dogs and cats

Education for the community so that people know how to treat their animals and strays

Food so that we can provide superior health for the animals in our care

We rely on entirely on donations in order to do these services.  We hope that you will share with your friends the need for help with our community and owned animals that need food in order to gain weight and build strength.

Please see two of our most recent patients, Julyano and Black Tulip.  Both were found abandoned.  Julyano was found by our Dream Team near Bucharest living in a field.

Black Tulip was found by a rescuer whom we help.  Black Tulip had been abandoned as a pup, picked up by a man and chained, attacked by wild pigs, and then dumped again by the man who had chained her once her wound would not heal.  You can see in the photo her stump from the pig attack.  She is having her leg amputated and will be going to the UK for adoption once she is strong and healthy enough.

Both Julyano and Black Tulip are long term patients at Center of Hope now.  They will be up for adoption when healthy.  Right now, we must sustain their food costs, and those of so many others, with your help.  Thank you friends!

Romania Animal Rescue works with tens of charities to provide spay and neuter and veterinary care.  In 2017 we provided free spay and neuter for over 9300 dogs and cats.   We are constantly asked for help with food donations as well.   The animals, once spayed and neutered or after receiving treatments, are still needing food.

Goals are:

Stopping birth of unwanted animals

Providing treatments under the Homeless Animals Hospital project

...and then doing as much as we can to help those we have already helped.

In July we are spaying and neutering in a massive spayathon for villages near Sibiu.  Andreea who runs the local charity sent me this photo of puppies who are living on the fields that she feeds.  Once these pups are old enough, Andreea will see to it they are spayed and with hope can find homes.  Our project for this report will be to assist Andreea in providing food for animals in villages near Sibiu.

Please help if you can and thank you.  I wish you a lovely summer!

Ursu arrives at Family Vet
Ursu arrives at Family Vet

Dear Romania Animal Rescue Supporters and Friends,

Meet Ursu.  He is just a pup, brought in by a very poor family having been hit by a car.  He had a diaphragmatic hernia, meaning his organs were slammed into his heart and lungs from the car accident.  It was unknown whether he would survive or not, but thanks to the vets and techs from RAR and our Homeless Animals Hospital program, he was helped and survived!

His family is very poor, but they love him dearly.  We would like to be able to give Ursu and other dogs and cats like him food.  Can you help us to help them please?  Any donation is welcome, none is too small.

Thank you very much for your ongoing support and please share with friends and family if you can.  Together, we can change the way Romanian animals live!

Thank you!

Marshmallow
Marshmallow

Thanks to our supporters, Marshmallow got the gift of Iife this Christmas

Marshmallow is a 2 year old Bichon and was hit by a car on Christmas Day.

She was brought to Romania Animal Rescue by her owners at around 8pm on Christmas Day night.

Our vets and vet techs on duty quickly assessed Marshmallow's condition and discovered she had a broken pelvis and two broken back legs. You can see from the X-ray that the bone was protruding through the skin on one of her legs.

Poor Marshmallow was in extreme shock and was suffering from hypothermia. Our team weren't sure she would live but they went straight to work and did everything they could to save her.

They worked through the night and Marshmallow was given every treatment possible including antibiotics, intravenous painkillers and drugs to stop bleeding and help her body recover from the blood she had lost from her injuries. By morning time, her condition had stabilised.

Marshmallow was too weak to have surgery straight away but her condition has been monitored constantly and she was strong enough to have her first surgery to repair one leg yesterday and the second leg was repaired today.

Marshmallow's owners cannot afford to pay for her veterinary treatment and decided to sign her over to the care of Romania Animal Rescue. We will care for her and find her a home when she has recovered from her ordeal.

We treat hundreds of dogs and cats like Marshmallow each year.  These sweethearts need long term aftercare at our clinics as well as with Diana who does foster care for us.  They need highly nutritious food to regain health and strength   Your donations make this vital aspect of our continuing help possible.

Without you, there would be no way for us to care for dogs Iike Marshmallow. Your support means that dogs like Marshmallow get the best veterinary care, food and a cozy bed and lots of TLC from our vets and vet techs.

Thank you for your ongoing support and we wish you a wonderful 2018!

Thank you
