What is meant by Disaster Management?
How shall we protect or save the people affected by the Natural or Artificial Disaster? In what manner we will protect or make the forewarnings before the occurrence of the disaster. Disasters are of 2 kinds. Those are: Natural Disaster: Rain, Cyclone, Flood, Tremors, Thunder, Lightning, Tsunami etc Artificial Disaster: Fire Accidents, By breaking of trees, demolition of houses falling on men, Motor accidents, accidents being occurred during the sports etc
During the occurrence of Natural Disaster Govt. will announce the Early warnings and involve in the protection and safe guard activities. During that occasion our people must give fall co-operation to the government and they should have enough knowledge about the rehabilitation camps being conducted by the Govt. Also we must choose the high places for our protection. Also we must guide and carry the weak and aged people women, children and Alternation skilled to those spots particularly we must give first priority to the above mentioned people
We must provide the first Aid facilities to the vulnerable community entangled in the demolitions of falls tiles, reapers, roofs old houses, trees etc.. At first we must inform about those persons and places to the Govt. officials or to the Disaster Recovery Team. Also their contact mobile numbers shall be written legibly it’s a common place to be viewed by everybody. It would be a great help to the needy people. Then we must provide the First Aid help to the injured or affected persons. As we see a person who met any hurt or accident we must make a phone call to No.108 and arrange for the Ambulance and inform them the nearby land marks. If the affected person has the head injury and bleeding from the head we must tear the edge of our Napkin, towel or dhoti and fold it four times and keep it upon the bleeding spot and make bandage with the help of a long strip of cloth. If we do so we can carried the hemorrhage to some extent if a person has the heavy loss of blood and being found at the fainting condition, at first we must check whether he is alive or not.
At first we must check the pulse at the wrist of the affected person. Following that we must also check the pulse at the temples of the fore head, and also and the meeting place of lower jaw and neck. If we are unable to feel the pulse with our fingers we can keep our palm at the lift side of the chest of the affected person and following that we can keep our ear upon the left side of the chest, so that we can hear the heart beat very clearly. If it is not found we can keep our hand upon the left side of the chest and press there gently. If the heart beat is not felt we can blow air force our mouth to the victim’s mouth. If we like to do so we can keep a nice cloth upon the mouth of the affected person and blow the air from our mouth to the victim’s mouth. As we do so in this manner germs will not enter into his/her body. In this manner we can make the heart – beat to a person in the unconscious condition. After the arrival of No.108 Ambulance there we can send the affected person though ambulance. This training was performed with the practical demonstration clearly. Everybody in the training programme understood this clearly.
