LIVELIHOOD TRAINING PROGRAMME: A poet sang, ‘’Learn a handicraft leave the worries of you’’. If some body knows the handicraft and does the same that person can develops his livelihood condition. There are so many handicraft works. According to the availability of resource materials in their concerned area, they can prepare a material by their own handicraft economically with a different style in good manner. In order to attract the public the entrepreneur must prepare in product with the better quality than others, many people will by their product. When people our product they must be of good qualities and the rate must be reasonable. Well to do people will buy the materials if they like and they are good even through the rate is high. At present many artificial materials are sold in market. But it was arranged to provide training to prepare the handicraft with the natural materials such corals, shells etc. This type of natural articles is very rare materials. In the whole world these can be got only in a few sea shape areas. Especially at Bay of Bengal zone particularly at Gulf of Mannar only these rare materials can be got. We can prepare some home decorative articles from the shells, corals and pearls being collected it these coastal area by cleaning these materials it can be manufactured as valuable decretive articles can be made in the form of peacock, Deer, Elephant and they can be fixed upon the mirrors. It would be very nice. If we do so, it would be interesting to the people. These art materials can be got only at limited places such as Rameswaram, Kanyakumari etc. To these Southern end all over India come to these places by these decorative materials. Also many people from foreign countries also visit these areas and buy these materials according to their interest. As these decorative material differently prepare by Shells, Corals, Pearls etc these are seemed very attractive. Home decorative materials in the form of garland to fix on the door posts are also sold by these entrepreneurs’ small shells also can be fixed with the rope or string and it would be like a chain. People foreign countries happily by these chains and wear around their neck like a garland and walk happily in the market places and sea shore and shopping areas. Like these handicraft works members. Such trainings are offered by as to the victims in Santhosh Nagar area of Chennai also. As they are trained up well in this entrepreneurship, in the very near future they can develop their economic status very soon. Therefore the beneficiaries participated from Santhosh Nagar area were very happy when the last batch accomplished its training programme successfully and they conveyed their heartfelt thanks to the  Global Giving and Chevalier Roche Society. We went to meet the women in Santhosh Nagar,Egmore area. We enquired about their advantages and dis advantages. They said that usually their husbands would go for working at the sea. They had no  regular income for them. One day they will have no work for them. As the situation is very hard so, it is very hard to run their families. Therefore they asked us to provide an entrepreneurship for them. We asked them what type of Entrepreneurship they want to learn for their livelihood uplift. They were interest to do have training on corals, shell works etc. We explained them about some of the sample entrepreneurship works. They answered that they wanted to chose the coral shell works upon the mirrors. We also agreed with them to provide such Training for them. we taught them how should decorate the mirror with corals, shells etc. During this training we taught them shall we make the heart shaped models and peacock shaped models with the practical demonstration. The participants of the training programme they also learnt what we taught and they were also able to make such models we made in front of them. In this training programme we taught them almost about where should they go and sell these entrepreneurship products. We suggested them that it could be sold successfully in the tourist centre’s. We also mentioned about some Tourist Centre’s to them. During the marketing we  must embracing about the advantages of these products to the people who came to themselves to buy the entrepreneurship products. About selling these products also we provided  them the training in a simple manner. They also understood them clearly felt happy and conveyed their heart felt thanks to the Global Giving & Chevalier Roche Society.

LIVELIHOOD TRAINING: Regarding the Free Entrepreneurship Training we went to Thideer Nagar, Saidapet and we explained about that to women in that area. They heard about that with zeal. They asked as earnestly to teach them about that. When we asked them, ‘’what kind of work you want to do?’’ To answer this question they replied that they were interested to make garlands which are worm for photos pictures etc.According to their interest we provided the garland making Training for them. For this training Flowers, Plastic materials were not necessary Instead of that we provided them the training by utilizing corals, shell etc to make garlands. During the time of the training they prepared garlands. They said that it was easy to learn and to do. At the same time with the expense of small amount of money we could earn a good profit amount they learned the training very well with great zeal in their minds. Also we explained them where they should sell these garlands and in what manner they should sell the same. They learnt about the business techniques and this entrepreneurship is much interesting to them.

ORNAMENTAL SHELL CRAFT: Mollusca is the type of a Animalia. Ornamental shells it is mostly large, Colorful, relatively cheap, Plentiful, mostly gastropods, some bivalves including giant clams. Whole shells are used as a souvenirs and decoration. The ornamental shell trade, which primarily includes shells exploited for their decorative (or) rareness value, is also substantial. There are so many molluscus reported from different parts of the world. There are 31,463 marine water 8,765 fresh water and 24,503 land molluscus. Shell craft industries in south East Asia may still use thousands of tons for shells annually for mother of pearl products. Taiwan exports around 30 tones of worked mother of pearls and 200 tones of mother of pearl articles annually and Japah has similarly large exports.

USAGE SHELLS: Shells have been used in much process etc. They are currency, jewellery making, making ornaments, tools, horns games, medicine and as magical (or) religious symbols. Rare specimen shells are few in trade expensive, mostly narrow endemics and deepwater gastropods.  

 SHELL CRAFTS: Strombus Spp, cassis Spp, cyprea Spp, lambis Spp, conus Spp, xanchus pyrum, olive Spp, Arca Spp, Babylonia Spp These mollusus are designed as outlet products such as Table lamps, pendent’s for chains, necklaces, pen stand, Fantasy flower sculptures, flower vases, shell screens door curtains, for windows, bangles, sculptures god statues using some shells, necklaces, ornaments like rings, etc. Thus the ornamental shell craft is demonstrated in detail to the victims to make then as a business promoter for doing some of the ornamental shell crafts using some types of shells and some of the trainings given to the victims in encouraging them to do some business activities finally.

LIVELIHOOD TRAINING: We went to the Kothamedu, Saidapet area and met women who did not go for any work. We talked with them saying that we are providing Free Entrepreneurship Training for women, by which they could get many benefits. Being heard that many women gathered there were of very much interested to acquire Training for them and they asked us to provide them such Training programmes. We explained them about this training programme. Of there are trainings about by shells and corals doing the decorative work upon the mirror, garland for pictures Garland for door post, shells Garland, corals garland etc. These entrepreneurship trainings are provided with the help of corals, shells pearls etc. Of which they wanted to learn about making the garlands from shells and corals. Therefore we provided the necessary training for the same. During the Training programme we provided the training prepare garlands from shells and corals etc along with the practical demonstration of manufacturing materials such as Bangles and study from corals, shells etc. During the training we told them that we would have seen the garlands being made by corals, gold, silver etc. But the being made by chains corals and shells are beautiful and cheap when we compare them with the Gold and silver Jewels they are more beautiful and Economic for the people. That is why this training for this group of women felt very happy about this programme. By this entrepreneurship they can earn much income for them. Also these women can go to other places and sell these articles. This would be more profitable for them. With that good purpose, this Entrepreneurship training was offered to these women in this area. All of them learnt this entrepreneurship with much zeal. And also they themselves make a garland by shells and corals. Also we offered them the training about selling these entrepreneurship products being prepared by them. We taught them about the marketing Technology. It was very much useful to them. That is why they were very glad about this training programme. We also give suggestions where they can sell their products. They told as that we had should then a good way to develop in their life economically and they assured that they would develop further in their lives by closing this entrepreneurship properly and they would taught them others also about this training and they are much grateful about training. In order to live on earth every man needs money. In various methods people earn their money. There was a time men shall only work, earn money, save the money little by little. But in current situation not only men but also women must work and develop in their lives. It is essential during today’s situation. Men work hard and earn money. But women can do some entrepreneurship according to their ability. In this manner in order to develop the livelihood condition of women, they are provided livelihood training programme. Even there are so many handcraft works, if it is a different type of entrepreneurship the beneficiaries can work well. In this purpose these women selected the entrepreneurships of making garlands from corals and shells. These materials can’t be collected at the normal soil area. They can be collected at coastal areas only. Even through there are so many seas, these materials cant being collected at all sea–shore areas. In certain sea – shores only these materials are available. Even thought they are obtained so the shells and corals being obtained from the Gulf of manner area only is one of the good qualities in the world. In addition too this is not costly materials. If any body goes to the coastal area that person can easily collects these shells and corals or we can buy from others at a cheap rate. These are rate articles and natural articles. Natural articles have a good value among other artificial articles. For this entrepreneurships hip work we are not in need of either machines or a vast area for the preparation of the decorative items. Also we are not in need of money workers. Even a single women herself can do this entrepreneurship work. According to their imagination women can manufacture these decorative articles in various designs. Free hand design is can be made. And Peacock, Stag, Player like many designs can be made. With a small instruments help so many designs can be made and affixed upon the mirror. Also with the help of a nail we can make holes on shells, with the help of a nylon wire or nerve we may serially keep the shells in to the wire or nerve and form a garland. Also we can make door post garlands or hanging garlands, also for the wearing of Men and women we can make garlands by using shells and corals. We can form a shop and sell these  articles also. Also we can have these prepared materials at  our hands and sell these  by walking at the streets and roads. The Specialty of these articles are these are not available at all places. Especially these articles can be got at Rameswaram and Kanyakumari areas. Because these two stations are Tourist Centres. When people come to these centres during their tours as these articles are found special for them and as they  are manufactured from Natural materials and rare articles, they would certainly buy these articles. Therefore the livelihood standard of women depend on men for their family expenses. If this entrepreneurship develops more and more, they can meet their need on their own. From their own works and efforts. Women can earn the money for their needs of living. By this Entrepreneurship Training women will not only develop in their Lives, but also women can develop their families and their economic standard also would rise.
