Widows gave back after the harvest

Widows meeting
Widows meeting

This year we gave agricultural inputs to the widows and poor families from the community. Since our staple food is ugali (a mixture of maize flour and water served with vegetables or chicken) we managed to give them fertilizer and maize seeds.  We gave them according to the size of their farms.

We had good rains and therefore we had good harvests. Last month, October we had a meeting with all the women to hear their stories after harvest and we were overwhelmed.  Each of them brought maize grain to us and we had 250 kilograms for the children's home.

This program has encouraged us because we are not only working with the children in our care but we are changing communities. The widows' stories were overwhelming, they couldn't control their happiness and gratitude to those who made this to happen.

It is our prayer and hopes that you will be able to share the good work you are doing with friends and other family members, to help us build up this program. We dont have enough monthly supporters and therefore we are limited. We are now supporting children while staying in families to reduce the number of children in institutional care. The numbers are always big but it's good to work with community members to support more children.

We are grateful for each and every support. Nothing is too small for us, every donation makes a difference.
