Give $20 today to help her find gainful employment
Give $20 today to help her find gainful employment

After our recent grant funding success, EIM has been thriving. We’re delighted to see the school making such great progress under Haitian leadership. In fact, we’re so pleased with the school’s progress that we’re hoping to expand in 2014.

We’d love to have more students, an expanded networking service to help our students find jobs, and more students learning to teach by providing free English classes for orphans. But of course, for that we need funding!

Today, and today only, GlobalGiving will help students like Claudia realise their dreams of finding a permanent job by matching your donations! That means that when you donate $20 today, we’ll be able to keep Claudia learning for an entire month.

Please help the English in Mind Institute keep growing by giving $20 to support Claudia today!

The classes at EIM continue growing strong, and we’re delighted to report that a US grant maker has come forward to provide $2400 toward the students’ orphanage teaching programme!

With their help, EIM students will be able to keep practicing their teaching skills while teaching orphaned children English. The classes not only help the kids learn a valuable skill – they also build the kids’ confidence.

EIM represents a fantastic opportunity for all of our students, but it’s particularly important for the mothers in our classes. For the moms at EIM, finding work isn’t just about a better life for themselves - it’s also about sending their kids to school so that they can build a bright future.

That’s why this mother’s day, we’re featuring three inspiring mom’s from EIM. Bengie and Brunache are all working not only for a better future for their kids. This mother’s day, you can honour your mom by supporting an inspiring Haitian mother like Bengie.

When you make your donation to a mother in Haiti, your mom will receive a beautiful card and GlobalGiving will top your donation up by $5. Please consider getting your mom a beautiful GlobalGiving card this mother’s day by giving whatever you can to Bengie or Brunache

Thanks so much for all you've done, and our warmest regards!!

They love learning!
They love learning!

It’s been a great spring for EIM! Not only is the school enjoying the fantastic support of donors like you, but a grant maker in the UK has donated $1600 to support the school!

This additional support is a great boost for the teachers. Combined with the generosity of donors like you right here on GlobalGiving, we’re delighted to report that the school has funding through the end of this summer.

But this is no time to rest on our laurels – we hope to expand the teacher-training programme, orphanage support programme, and, of course, welcome more students! With your support, we’ll be able to build on the momentum of recent fundraising successes to provide job skills to even more vulnerable community members in Port au Prince.

We’re so excited about the future of EIM, and so are our students! Your generosity makes it possible for 150 students to learn the skills they need to find gainful employment and a route out of poverty. Thanks so much for all you do, and we can’t wait to update you on future successes!

Very kind regards!

Support him by donating tomorrow!
Support him by donating tomorrow!

At the English in Mind Institute, every day is a day of learning and hope for students like Claudia. Claudia joined the school at the start of the 2013 school year and plans to use her English skills to become an IT technician in one of Port au Prince’s offices.

On her first day of class, Claudia had a message for all of EIM's donors. “I wish you won’t be discouraged [that] we are not able to give you any award in return for what you give us. [but I think] God will pay you for your great gift. Thank you so much!”

As you can see Claudia is inspired by your choice to give, and so are we!

Tomorrow your generosity will make an even bigger impact because GlobalGiving will be matching all donations by 30%! It costs just $30 a month to keep a student like Claudia, Dominique or Spower learning. So, please give whatever you can tomorrow!

Even if you can’t donate, you can still help EIM keep growing by sharing this update with friends and family. Don't forget to let them know that for just $30, they can give Spower a month of education which will let him find a job and, with it, a road out of poverty!

Thanks so much for giving our students the opportunity to change their lives, and warm regards!
