We’d like to extend a warm thank you for your generosity! Together, you’ve given a fantastic $1,080 this holiday season.
Your generosity will not only keep the school open and keep students like Bengie learning, it has also allowed us to hire a new teacher! Long-time student Alex now has a job teaching our intermediate class.
Alex has always dreamed of being a teacher. Thanks to you, that dream has come true. Alex’s job will not only help him escape poverty, but allow him to pass his knowledge on to others and help them follow in his footsteps.
We’ll post updates on the school’s growth and Alex’s brand new class right here on GlobalGiving – so keep checking back.
As always, if you ever have any questions about how we’re using your donation please don’t hesitate to email Emma@IDVolunteers.org. I would love to hear from you!
Thanks again, and very kind regards.
We hope you had a Merry Christmas and thanks so much to everyone who has set up recurring donations following our emails on the 20th!
Today, we’re looking back on 2013. It’s been a fantastic year, with students like Bengie, Alex, and Nocky finding work to support their families. That means that, thanks to you, their 2014 looks bright.
In 2014, we intend to keep supporting the students who are already attending EIM and admit as many more new students as we can. But we can’t do it without you.
We hope that you’ll resolve to make 2014 a year of giving by setting up a monthly donation. If you give $10 a month throughout 2014, you’ll fund six months of education for a student like Bengie.
Even better, when you set up your recurring donation before the ball drops and 2014 begins, GlobalGiving will match your gift.

If you’re not ready to commit to a monthly donation, your one-off donation, whatever its size, will be gratefully received.
Thanks so much, and we wish you a very Happy New Year!

Your support at EIM in 2013 has already made so many success stories possible.
Donors right here on GlobalGiving funded Alex’s education. He joined EIM because he wanted to become a teacher, and because of your support that’s now exactly what he’s done. He now teaches English at a local school to both adults and children.
Alex is just one success story out of dozens which have only been possible because you chose to give – thanks so much!
But while many of our students have used the education you made possible to find jobs, get scholarships, and build a brighter future, there are still over 200 people on our waiting list. They are patiently waiting for a spot in our school because there aren’t any others like it in Port au Prince.
This Christmas, we hope you’ll help us give a student on that waiting list the gift of education by becoming a monthly donor. When you create your recurring donation between today and New Year’s Eve, GlobalGiving will match your donation!
Giving just $10 a month for 12 months is enough to fund six months of a student’s education. Please consider giving what you can, starting this month, to help more students follow in Alex’s footsteps.

Not ready to commit to a monthly donation? No problem. Your gift, whatever its size, will help students like Alex. Thanks so very much - and, if you’re celebrating this year, we wish you a very Merry Christmas!
In 2013 you funded a year of education for Bengie so that she could support her son. We’re now delighted to report that the education you funded is paying off.
Bengie has used her new language skills to find a job with a local non-profit that teaches English to at risk young women. Her new job pays a living wage and is allowing Bengie to help other young women build a brighter future – and it’s all thanks to you.
As families across the US gather to give thanks, we wanted to let you know that this year, Bengie and 150 students just like her are thankful for you.
We wish you a very happy Thanksgiving from Port au Prince and our staff at IDV!
We’re delighted to announce that when you donate $15 or more to EIM, you’ll receive a beautiful, hand-made card.
A former EIM student who is now using his artisan and language skills to earn a living makes the cards. That means that your gift not only helps support EIM, but helps a student make his living.
Our cards come in a variety of designs ranging from secular holiday cards to religious Christmas cards to cards which have nothing at all to do with the holiday season. That means that we’re sure to have a gift for you.
Every card is unique and hand made, so they make fantastic gifts.

Please be aware that cards can only be shipped within the US.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email Emma@IDVolunteer.sorg. I would be delighted to answer any questions you might have!
