Dear Visionaries and Anti-illiteracy Advocates for Afghanistan's Educational Future,
I am honored to share with you the latest progress of the Dosti Foundation/Global Education Campaign (DOSTI/GEC) as we continue our mission to eliminate illiteracy in Afghanistan. Our journey is filled with challenges, but your support keeps us moving forward, ensuring that every child has access to quality education. Together, we are making remarkable strides toward building a brighter, literate future for Afghanistan.
Progress Highlights for This Quarter:
We are proud to report that the "End Illiteracy in Afghanistan by 2025" initiative has made meaningful advancements this quarter, further demonstrating our shared commitment to educating Afghanistan's children and youth.
Student Enrollment and Impact:
This quarter, with the help of community-based teachers and local champions, we have reached an additional 2,530 children, bringing them into the fold of the GEC one-room-school system. These students now have the opportunity to learn and grow, despite the many socio-cultural barriers in place. More importantly, we are witnessing a strong surge in the enrollment of girls, a monumental achievement in the context of Afghanistan's evolving education landscape.
Educational Infrastructure Expansion:
In response to the increasing demand for education, we are thrilled to announce the establishment of 26 more one-room schools, raising our total to 906 schools across Afghanistan. Each new school represents a beacon of hope, where children can gather to learn and dream. However, the demand for more schools continues to grow, particularly as communities recognize the importance of educating their children, especially girls.
The Growing Demand for Education:
Afghanistan's families, particularly in rural areas, are increasingly seeking education for their children, with an unprecedented number of requests for new schools and starter kits for the GEC One Room Schools. The desire for education is palpable, and we are committed to meeting these demands by expanding our reach even further.
However, we urgently need additional resources to supply these schools with the necessary educational materials and infrastructure to continue this momentum.
The success of this initiative depends on the collective effort of education champions and anti-illiteracy advocates like yourself. Your ongoing support is critical as we aim to provide starter kits for new schools and sustain the momentum we've built. We invite you to join hands with us in this noble cause and continue supporting the education of Afghanistan's future leaders.
Every contribution counts. For example:
Your generosity and belief in this cause are shaping the lives of thousands of children who might otherwise have been deprived of education. Together, we can make literacy a reality for all Afghan children, one school at a time.
With deepest appreciation for your steadfast support,
